Prince Harry "1st Amendment Bonkers" Should Be Identified as a Kinsley Gaffe
self | 05-17-19 | CharlesOconnell

Posted on 05/17/2021 11:05:38 AM PDT by CharlesOConnell

A Kinsley gaffe is when a public figure unintentionally mixes up private & public talk, letting the cat out of the bag about something that's not supposed to be talked about. What is it now? Freedom of expression in the U.S. is now considered treasonous, the same as it has been for long in the land of the Magna Carta. A long standing difference between the U.S. & Britain stems from the time in the 1800s, prior to railroads (usually it's expressed as "prior to the civil war") when most Americans were beyond the reach of central govt., Wall St. & its British equivalent "The City" (lampooned in Mary Poppins). At that time, American kids were expected to be self-supporting by 13, but as soon as the whole economy was industrialized and consumerized, that ran into the steam roller of "child labor". At that time, it took, by John Taylor Gatto's estimate, 2 1/2 months to learn to read, after which kids could decide what they wanted to learn, and 3 months to learn to cipher, do arithmetic. At that time, it was illegal in Britain to teach working class people "the active literacies", how to extend one's personal reading into writing & public speaking. This is the historical context of Prince Harry's "the 1st Amendment drives me Bonkers" quip. He's speaking publicly about something that should have been kept private: The 1st Amendment in America is toast.

@PHarry_Meghan Tying to understand the origin of freedom of speech in the U.S. ¶ I understand, the engineering of consent, a century old industry, is now run by algorithms. (It means, ads are extremely powerful on an unconscious basis, so that what people think & do, they’re not very aware of “why”.) But that’s mass programming by oligarchs. (The 2,500 or so Billionaires & the 65% of the world economy they control.) ¶ Why can’t the personal free market in ideas still prevail?

First Amendment to the United States Constitution

Constitutional Amendment

The First Amendment to the United States Constitution prevents the government from making laws which regulate an establishment of religion, or that would prohibit the free exercise of religion, or abridge the freedom of speech, the freedom of the press, the freedom of assembly, or the right to petition the government for redress of grievances. It was adopted on December 15, 1791, as one of the ten amendments that constitute the Bill of Rights.

England rearing its ugly head after having been booted out?

I suspected Russia of fighting WWIi to this day, but England fighting 1776 is interesting. Our founders were right to ban the Church of England and its prayer to their King. That such forms of seditious “diversity” are allowed nowadays strikes me as the Lincolnian price. What happened that we allow this stuff?

I'm surprised I've seen no outcry in support from the "Leave Harry Alone" crowd.

Hasn’t his 90-day visa expired? Shouldn’t he be moving along?

All of the monarchy should be rounded up, tossed to the curb, or executed to end the monarchy once and for all. Every penny of “their” wealth (lands, money, etc. All of it.) should be returned to the UK. Should they not be executed, let the family get jobs or become paupers.
