Got bunches of wild turkeys around here.
Even the yearling hens (mostly) are smart enough to keep away from roads and traffic.
The Old Toms.....sheesh, I'd swear we've got a couple out North that can pick locks on grain bins and disable security cameras just for fun.
We won't discuss what they do with those yearling hens on this channel.
I had one hen fly over my car round here after I almost hit her. yep. Wild ones are wise and not real easy to hunt.
Yes.
I don't know nothin' about wild turkeys.
But I did work on a turkey ranch for a spell, in college.
Laws, are those some dumb animals. You try to 'herd' them and they sit down and put their turkey poontang up in the air like I'm sposed to make the beast with two back with their sorry ass.
Disgusting animals. But tasty.
p.s. In case anybody's wondering, I never did take them up on their offer.
More turkey slide. True story.
Had a friend several years ago who drove his 911 Porsche from CO to visit a friend of his in PA. They went out to eat in the PA friend’s car, and when they came back the Porsche was all scratched and dented to hell.
Local cops said that a turkey had probably come out of the woods, seen his reflection in the shiny Porsche and attacked the heck out of it.
Insurance did pay to fix it, fortunately. The turkey was never apprehended for the crime.
