I saw a condor one day from a community on the back side of Pike’s peak. Nothing else has a wingspan like that and glides so long without obviously moving its wings—not that I know of anyway.

Not surprised that they’re becoming trashy pests again.

Filthy ugly birds. Only looking for trouble. Extinction should have happened. We stopped a natural phenonenem.

Ha a pair of buzzards get in a deer blind once and raised their chicks, ended up burning down the deer blind. What a God-Awful smell.

Got a glimpse of one decades ago from a distance.

It looked liked some kind of Pterodactyl.

It seems as though it should be that hard to come up with a deterrent.

Buzzards,
nasty birds,
carrion eaters.

Get rid of the corpses in the attic. Problem solved.

We don’t have condors in Kansas but we do have turkey buzzards and we love them. They are so beautiful when they fly. They are amazing parents. The best time to watch them is in the early fall after the chicks have fledged. There are then up to five or six of them flying in formation.

We stopped a natural phenonenem(sic).

If decades of shooting and poisoning can be considered a natural phenomenon.

About right. Probably something dead under the hot tube cover. Get rid of it and they may move!

Nick, you always find the BEST stuff! You are a real treasure here on FR. You’re almost your own “News of the Weird,” but not really creepy weird stuff. Just a bit unusual and offbeat.

Thanks for this one. It made me laugh.

I don’t think people get that, that sometimes a species dies out naturally. Personally, I’m ecstatic that huge dinosaurs are extinct.

I’ve got a natural enemy to deter them: bats.

Baseball bats.
