Bike needed maintenance. It went “gobble, gobble, gobble”.
So CNBC and CNN stars take that chance wherever they go. Mistakes were made.
Kid I knew in high school was shot and killed by his cousin when they were out deer hunting. The cousin heard something moving in the bushes and fired blindly. These guys were like brothers, a real tragedy.
Turkey hunters are about a half bubble off the plumb, IMO.
First, when you think about making a disparaging remark against anyone on Andy Griffith may I ask you to please nip it, nip it in the bud?
Second, in the books of celebrity photos next to their surprising unknown twins Separated by Birth there was one of Don Knotts next to Mick Jagger. Seemed shocking but they did look alike when smiling. Funny.
A point well made. I’ve hunted turkey in Missouri. If an idiot in MO “ and it has it’s share” does this, it ain’t an accident, it’s murder by idiot.
Maybe add————
Be sure you know who’s coming into your yard before you shoot them.
Amazingly, Benjamin Franklin tried to get the American Turkey selected as the national bird but he was overruled and they chose the American Eagle. Just missed a lot of punchlines with that one.
Just a question, what was the hiker wearing? Many hikers are oblivious to hunting seasons, and wear woodsy clothing instead of bright colors.
Ouch. That's gonna leave a mark.

That don’t mean shitz. Know your target. Hunting is easy if assholes with guns stay home. People in the woods don’t look like a freaking turkey.
FYI, Turkey hunters use shotguns not rifles. And, broad clear trails are super highways for wildlife.
“Evidently somebody just shot at the sound.”
Some turkey hunters wear ghillie suits that cant be seen at all, and will put out turkey decoys that look like the real thing. Then they will set next to that making turkey calls.
It’s a wonder more aren’t shot.
Too bad, but an easy mistake to make.
Lewis and Clark Trail and Lewis Trail Loop is a 8.3 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near St. Charles, Missouri
One of the comments from a person who was on the trail on last April 25 reads "Crowded but fun". A week before a commenter posted ...over all, really nice! Busy though!!

WTH!
In this sort of environment, either you completely close the area to non-hunters or don't have a hunt there.
“”Why do you have a turkey hunt on a popular hiking trail ?””. Why would one hike in an area where others are hunting? Hiking or harassing?
Wife and I hike a trail nearby that allows hunting in the surrounding area.
Letting people hunt in an area used by hikers, runners, bikers, etc seems like a recipe for disaster. We wear orange when we go, but still..yeah, we could skip the trail - but it’s a nice one and would be a shame to have to stay away because some idiots at the DNR decided letting hunters and hikers use the same area at the same time is somehow a good idea..
Sounds reasonable that turkey hunters are more likely to get shot by other turkey hunters.
I doubt the hiker was wearing a ghillie suit and carrying a decoy while blowing on a turkey call though.
Yes, sounds like somebody involved in the organizing messed up.
