Andover parents Kristin and Scott are speaking out on behalf of their daughter. She along with two of her friends are freshmen at UMass Amherst. A picture posted on social media of the three friends not wearing masks outside was handed over to the university and that has landed them in serious trouble.
“There was a photo sent to the administration of these girls outside off campus on a Saturday. This is why they lost a whole semester of their schooling,” Kristin said.

Good, the kid is better off not attending that communist indoctrination camp.
As soon as a judge sees pictures of the school hockey players not wearing masks and not being punished, the school will lose it’s case or they will have to suspend the hockey players and perhaps the coach.
I don’t care much for liberals but I hate injustice even when done to liberal college girls. They were just being girls and didn’t need to be slapped with so harsh a punishment...givem a warning letter or making them clean school toilets or something is the worst that should have happened to them.
Oh there’s all sorts of title 9 issues and double standards being set here. The pictures of the unmasked hockey players with no punishments issues to them will be damning for the school’s case.
So virtual learning was ok until it wasn’t?
That sounds vindictive.
And a good start to a lawsuit for huge damages.
They will be able to sue in Federal court on the grounds of violations of equal protection monst other things.. The pictures of the unmasked hockey team player will come out as will testimony that none of them were punished for the same thing. The school will lose.
“I hate to be the guy,...”
When it comes to lawsuits, I am always “The Guy.” Because the media hypes incredible “wins” in lawsuits with zero context, people tend to think of them as a lottery you can’t lose. Having been through a couple of lawsuits, that weren’t voluntary even when I was the one suing, I have a pretty good perspective on what they’re like. I’d sooner have a few teeth pulled without anesthetic.
If a significant number of the students were to do a “mask-out”, would the school kick them all out ?
Except per mdmathis6 the hockey players went unmasked, and no mention of punishment for them.

They won’t do it. This generation loves the virtue signal. What the girls did is not unusual, they just got snitched on. They love the idea that YOU have to obey. They view everyone over 40 as Trump-worshipping ignorant fops who need instruction. That’s why there is a constant barrage of “Talk to your family about.....”(trans, Covid, Obamacare, etc)
Except the hockey players didn’t get in trouble for not masking:

That is significant.
I’m glad I’m not a college student now. I would not have put up with their garbage for ten minutes.
Actually, if I knew then what I know now, I wouldn’t bother with college. I’d find a good skilled trade and become expert in that.
These parents would probably be ok with taking selfies inside the gorilla enclosure.
Put your kids in a Massachusetts college, count on a mauling.
The way I read the article, they were not allowed to take their finals and basically lost the $16,000 in tuition for the year.
What’s really insane is that apparently they want to re-enroll and go back next year
My opinion regarding college nowadays is, unless you’re getting a degree in the hard Sciences or in a specialized field, don’t even go. A liberal arts degree is absolutely worthless now. In addition it’s pretty much propagandized garbage.
It is interesting, thank you.
Agreed. It’s just a “degree” which I can get online for a fraction of the expense without dealing with all the liberal BS.
I was once served drinks by a PhD in chemistry; the drinks weren’t ‘that’ good (/s), nor was my tip to the pothead (a tip in itself to why he was tending bar).
The latter begs a larger question: How does someone like that - zero drive - pass all the coursework, write an acceptable dissertation and be handed a PhD?
He was an absolute idiot, btw...
How did he do all the schoolwork etc? Because there was a lot less required than you and I want to think.
