This is literally big news for hunting and fishing.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service recently announced a proposal that would be the largest expansion of opportunities for access to hunting and fishing. The move is part of the Department of Interior’s efforts to increase the amount of recreational access on public lands.
According to a press release from the US FWS, these new opportunities would include turkey hunting and sport fishing in Florida at the Florida Panther National Wildlife Refuge. The proposal also aims to open migratory game bird hunting to certain areas of Texas, along with big game hunting. Areas of Virginia would also be opened for similar activities.
Martha Williams, Service Principal Deputy Director for the FWS, said, "We are committed to ensuring Americans of all backgrounds have access to hunting and fishing and other recreational activities on our public lands. Hunters and anglers are some of our most ardent conservationists and they play an important role in ensuring the future of diverse and healthy wildlife populations."
She continued, "Our lands have also provided a much-needed outlet to thousands during the pandemic and we hope these additional opportunities will provide a further connection with nature, recreation and enjoyment."

What’s the catch? There’s always a catch.
Did they run this by the boss (Kamala)?
They will open up more parts of the country, but reduce the number of barrels you can fish from.
We need to hire 400,000 park rangers to keep an eye on people.
Probably something like, you can’t bring guns to the hunting grounds?
It may also be a project of President Trump, which somehow sneaked under the radar and was not canceled by Bidet?!
“What’s the catch?”
My first reaction as well.
And to make sure hunters and fishermen are wearing their masks in the great outdoors.
I wonder if you'll need to be vaccinated in order to get hunting/fishing licenses?
A lot of people buy up the land around federal parks, and then close off access.
Nice way to get the benefit of federally managed land without paying for it.
The proposal is to revisit allowing public access to these lands.
I know of a few ranchers who charge high fees for people to hunt public land.
Totally support this. If the land is public, there must be access. If it is not public, then the taxes need to be paid. To much public land treated as private.
Food inflation is going to be so bad, you’re going to need to hunt and fish just to fill your bellies...
Dollars for licenses and tags. The catch is usually cash.
What’s the catch? There’s always a catch.
Only people of color will be allowed to hunt and fish on Federal lands.
liberals will be quick to jump on this and ban it because it might mean someone enjoying themselves-
“We need to hire 400,000 park rangers to keep an eye on people.”
All affirmative-action hires, no doubt.
“Sir, do you have a big-game tag for that squirrel? I’m going to keep my finger on the trigger while you look for it, so don’t make any sudden moves.”
The catch is that hunters and fishermen are getting fed up with all the stupid restrictions and buying fewer licenses.
Fewer licenses means less MONEY for US FWS, less money means fewer people living off the TAXPAYERS TIT!
FTA.... ensuring Americans of all backgrounds have access
Always about race with these democrats.
Seems to me there’s a simple solution. If you purchase land adjacent to public land you must grant an easement for the public to access said public land.

I was going to post essentially the same thing. No rifle or shotguns allowed.
