I don’t think the government or any entity controlled by government, local or otherwise, should be making hard rules about how you protect yourself or your kids. If I had kids they wouldn’t be in public school anyway, not now. Both sides are trying to control everybody through propaganda and lies. That needs to stop, on both sides.
People should make up their own minds about how they protect themselves and their families.
Personally, I don’t care if people wear a mask or not. I am able where I live to choose to wear one or not or if I want to be around those that don’t. When our side is telling people not to wear them because of any reason, we are doing exactly what the other side is doing in reverse. It takes more than a mask. To avoid covid you also need to do the other precautions like wash hands, etc. People that intentionally flaunt precautions and are willing to catch any communicable disease, or try to convince others to take the chance, are the definition of stupid.
I hate seeing local people afraid to wear a mask if they choose due to being harassed by the anti-mask crowd. My county is probably 90% Conservative. It’s reversed here. Our “Karens” harass you if you wear one in some places. All of the “Karens” need to go away! They don’t get in your face or get violent the way the liberals do but you know it’s there.
My dog’s Vet clinic chose not to require masks. The doctor that sees my girls wore one in the room and of course I also did. I asked why they didn’t require them since all of the other clinics do and he said they are afraid the pets will suffer because stupid people won’t bring them for care if they have to wear a mask. I always stayed in the car until they called me to come to a room. Well.....the clinic is shut down for COVID while the others that enforce mask rules are still open. The other clinics require you to stay in your car. They come get the pet and bring it back after treatment. If you are needed in the room with your pet you are required to wear a mask. If you remove it while in the room, even if alone, you are escorted back to your car.
I have an anti-mask baby brother and SIL that are both sick with covid now. They have been in the bed for two weeks. They are young and should do fine but what about the people they exposed to it? Anti-maskers never think about what they are possibly doing to others. It’s all about their political agenda. My brother was grinding that political axe and now he’s not working. My youngest sister always wore her mask at work but her two co-workers didn’t. All three got covid. My sister had a mild case with the worst part being not smelling her coffee or bacon. One of her co-workers was in the hospital for a week and the other one died. We will always believe her mask kept her from getting a bad infection.
When the nurses and doctors doing surgery in hospitals stop wearing one “because they are useless”, I will believe they don’t work but not until then.
I refuse to take the shot, not because some people in here said not to. I talked to people like my Vet and dentist. My Vet took it but said he doesn’t believe it will work and might cause more problems than it fixes. His wife, a school teacher, talked him into it. My dentist refused it for the same reason I did....it’s too new.
I’ll never try to convince people that they should be forced to wear a mask but if they don’t in my presence in a crowded area, I will move away from them or go outside. My body, my choice.
We were in a Pet Smart the other day and saw the cutest dog. But she had something around the snout and we just assumed it was a “biter”. When I asked the owner, she told me with a perfectly straight face it was a mask for her dog so it didn’t get the corona!

Doctors and nurses wear masks, gloves, gowns, etc NOT to keep themselves protected from the patient, but to protect the patient from any germs the medical staff may have. In other words, the medical staff’s own breath harbors lots of germs and bacteria.
