I spend less than 20 minutes a day between Parler & Gab.
Now the three hours a day I do spend online that's not work related is here on FR. Yeah, just try re-claiming that time back and I start shaking.
Actually yes it was, but it required a little effort.
You had the ability to create your own filters (lists) and I would take trustworthy sources and create my own custom lists. I would keep them private as many do not like to be on public lists and I respected that.
But for me, it worked great. I had reliable news feeds coming to me with all the crap filtered out.
Yeah Twitter was a news feed. People I respected would bring up what news they thought important/interesting, and I’d research that further. Crowdsourcing, and I pick the crowd.
Gab. I go to Twitter to see one person with some interesting Covid research posts, otherwise I try not to go there. Never signed up for Telegram, haven’t signed up for Frank.
None..
None of the above
If I had to pick a favorite one, it would be Gab. This most closely mimics the Twitter experience. And why there is no official mobile app per se, setting up the URL on your mobile device as a bookmark does a nice job of simulating a mobile app experience.
“WHERE HAS EVERYONE GONE?”

I’m right here. At Free Republic. Ping me anytime.
When Trump was tweeting, I did!!
FR
I don’t have accounts on any of them. If I did I’d be sitting down all day and pretty soon I’d weigh a hundred pounds!
I keep LinkedIn for business, but mostly to read content - I post very little and no politics at all.
I quit Facebook in December. Enough.
I signed up for Parler and quit after the "data breach" revealed it was a digital honeypot trap. Never posted anything.
I signed up for MeWe and quit without ever posting anything. Not much relevant content and the owner appears to be yet another garden variety Leftist who can't be trusted with personal information.
I have never had accounts at Twitter nor Instagram nor Snapchat nor TikTok nor any of the other Millennial/Gen Z-oriented Left-wing publishers.
Most of my online postings are here on FR - where I am sure no information about me or my opinions is being sold.
“MeWe because it’s more than just politics”
I’m giving it a try. Must be pretty big since you can select among all of those languages.
I work in digital media so use them all, but I have to say I use twitter daily. I don’t want to be in an echo chamber, so GAB and Parler I find quite boring. Even Twitter changed its algorithm back in 2016 so people would stay in their own political lanes in order to reduce trolling. You have to do a bit of work to see other viewpoints outside of the media.
Mewe.com is where I do my online socializing.
Nothing at all besides FR. I keep my internet profile tiny so there’s nothing anyone to hold against me in this fascist cancel culture world we now live in. Normal political discourse and opinion is being outlawed and censored no matter where you look.
The Go Galt mindset will win the day until we live in a sane world where people can say “All Lives Matter” and “It’s OK to be white” without being crucified.
The social media site that I use most often is FR, and I will probably make my thirty-thousandth post this month. I’m also on Facebook, where I frequent nostalgia, music, hobby and a few political pages.
I learned about Telegram only a couple months ago. Several groups that I belong to use it to communicate, but I find it not to be particularly user-friendly. I would prefer something like Facebook.
I signed up for Twitter last summer but have never posted anything on it. I occasionally go there to follow Jack Posobiec, Andy Ngo, Dan Bongino, etc.
I also signed up for Parler last summer but haven’t used it since it was taken down. Although it’s back up, it seems to be only a shadow of its former self.
I have an account on Gab, but that site is full of weirdos. I keep running into Jew-haters, white supremacists, Holocaust deniers and even flat-earthers.
I have yet to try out sites such as MeWe and Frank.
I’m over here Agitators (@Agitators) / Gab Social
I have:
MeWe: No one is on there
Gab: Few members, and many just want to fight
Parler: Trying to be Twitter, but not intuitive.
This may be considered gratuitous, but FR's crowdsourced content in real-time combined with citizen posters of the most Deplorable stock, do the best job of keeping me informed and updated. Almost always, I know sooner and in greater depth (and with biting wit) about what's happening before my acquaintances say "did you hear about _____?"
This is true now, to a certain degree, but was 100% true in the past.
I used to be able to open up FR and look at the Breaking News and know what is going on in the world. Now?
If you try to post to Breaking News these days, you are sure to be shot down by a mod.
