I used to follow people on Twitter for updates, most left, then moved to Gab, again most left......

WHERE HAS EVERYONE GONE?

I am waiting to see which ones emerge. I hope a few gain traction soon. Everyone needs to get behind the ones that do to give these social media libs some serious competition.

Also, ditch Google if you haven’t.

This may be considered gratuitous, but FR's crowdsourced content in real-time combined with citizen posters of the most Deplorable stock, do the best job of keeping me informed and updated.

Almost always, I know sooner and in greater depth (and with biting wit) about what's happening before my acquaintances say "did you hear about _____?"

And this is all against the backdrop of having a job...once I'm off the clock, or at lunch, all I have to do is scan the front page of headlines and I am up-to-date.

FR is a national treasure.

Other than FR I go outside and tend to my yard or I read. Social media is a diseased cesspool of lies not fit for human consumption. Put down your phone and start living in the moment.

Other than Free Republic, I'm pretty much taking a sabbatical from social media. Like you, I was pretty active on Twitter and followed a lot of great people. I got most of my news that way.

When they cancelled the account of President Trump, I decided I could no longer be part of that platform, even though I loved the interface and the interaction and it was fun to use. The mobile app for Twitter was perfection. I could catch up on my news feed from anywhere.

There was also a huge potential audience on Twitter. One witty reply by me went viral and gained me nearly 1,000 followers over a single weekend. Lot of patriots were out there.

On the other hand, there were quite a few nasty people and I used my "block" button frequently.

Since then, I've tried out Parler, Gab, etc. None of them have gotten any traction to put them in the league of Twitter or Facebook. It's also not the same experience. The mobile apps are either non-existent or just plain crappy.

I will support any conservative friendly platform that emerges from the ashes and gives Twitter/Facebook a run for their money. I think many of us have been taking a break and waiting for the much-ballyhooed "Trump" platform but I'm starting to wonder if that will ever happen. We may need to get behind one of the existing ones at some point.

Once twatter helped cure me of my tweet addiction by suspending me as a dangerous misinformation spreader .....I haven’t felt the urge to use any of them.

MeWe because it’s more than just politics. There are groups for every interest. I can read political based rants and arguments of people here on FR. I don’t need to hear the 180 character limit opinions of talking heads or pols in a competition of cleverness.

I liked it when Pokémon had people jumping off of cliffs.

Users of these “apps” are suckers.

“I will support any conservative friendly platform that emerges from the ashes and gives Twitter/Facebook a run for their money.”

~~~
The problem with that sort of thinking is you and many many others like yourself waiting for that juggernaut to finally come around before jumping on the band wagon means that there wont be any juggernaut because nothing got enough momentum to garner the attention needed.
You did make a good case, however, for why you don’t like any of the alternatives that you tried.
Hopefully one of them, or some other new platform, gets their act together and makes a more user-friendly and fun app.
Telegram - but just private group conversations with family.
I visit FR several times every day.
I have several private group texts to communicate with my band mates, pool team, a few friends and family.
There are several forums for music, musical instruments, tools, or other things I’m interested in that I might visit occasionally.
I don’t use any social media like FB, Twitter, Gab or anything else.
Patriots.win
some articles posted, lots of memes, comments....all Trump fighting deep state
Greatawakening.win
mostly Q related.
some articles ahead of the rest, some repostings from reddit, all Trump fighting deep state and super friendly people.
I’m hoping that Frankspeech will be up and running soon and Trumps’ new platform too. Twitter died when they threw him off....just talking heads retweeting each other now. but I still go on and check out what the libs think is breaking news.
FreeRepublic, and that not much.
Walked away from Twitter when Trump was canceled.
Cold-turkied Facebook earlier.
Gab & Parler were erratic and exist for purely political reasons, badly skewing discussion.
Was spending too much time starting at the phone, bad example for kids.
Back to doing what needs doing, with little human interaction beyond family.
The tragedy of prosperity: lacking anything to struggle against, humans make a big deal about petty differences, destroying civilization in the process.
