Thank goodness they found it. I lost it about a month ago and have been searching all over for it. Can you have them give me a call?

I wonder how much “lighter” it is in terms of pounds, ounces, kilograms, grams and such. Why? Nuclear powered space travel.

The new uranium-214 isotope had a half-life of just half a millisecond, meaning that's the amount of time it takes for half of the radioactive sample to decay. The most common isotope of uranium - called uranium-238 - has a half-life of about 4.5 billion years, which is about the age of Earth.

They found that the proton and neutron in each alpha particle interacted much more strongly than in isotopes and other elements with similar numbers of protons and neutrons that have been previously studied. What? Very unclear what is meant here An alpha particle is a helium atom without the electrons. Is it ejected slower or faster here?

Faster, I’d assume.
Now, if there are some ‘free’ electrons floating around....................

A hybrid alpha and beta decay? That would be damn interesting? Thoughts?

I went and looked up other articles here. Apparently the nucleus formed was a little fatter than what they were expecting. Twice what was predicted. It suggests some internal reaction they have not known about previously. There were only two atoms formed so lots of uncertainty still remains.
