Description from video:
On April 22, 2021 a cash-in-transit heist failed due to the evasive maneuvers and balls of steel this driver has.

By looking at the coordinates displayed on the HUD, we can assume this took place somewhere in South Africa but cannot 100% confirm this as there is no story to be found. As the suspects begin firing at the armored van, the driver keeps his composure extremely calm and passes his rifle to his partner.

The driver taking full control of the situation begins maneuvering his vehicle, ultimately pulling a U-Turn and heading straight at the suspects. Warning his partner moments before, "They are going to shoot" as they both brace for what's about to happen. Multiple shots make contact with the armored van as the by-pass the suspects car approaching, but luckily neither of them were hit.

Unfortunately the footage cuts off a few seconds after they pass the armed suspects, but the driver exited the vehicle what seemed to be safely.

There is more out on the driver.
A friend found a few more articles on this event.
IIRC the driver was SA police 15(?) year and a shooting instructor... I have CRS!

As previously noted; not his first rodeo.

His pay before this happened, or his pay afterwards to come back? Definitely a cool customer.

The driver’s co-worker is either USELESS, or IN ON IT without making it look TOO obvious.

He did great until he got the van stuck.

As soon as the van was struck by fire, they should have called backup/police, etc., as well as what they did do. That’s the only thing I saw that they didn’t do well.

Bravo Zulu to those guys!

According to reports, the driver of the vehicle is a former member of the Police Special Task Force and currently an instructor at the security company, The Edge Shooting Academy, where he works.

According to its website “The Edge” offers unit standard based training as well as specialized training programs that are needed by special units in both Law enforcement and Private security.

The driver of a Toyota land cruiser, allegedly transporting cellphones, was being shot at, but the driver stayed calm and foiled the hijackers’ plans.

This is what the vehicle looked like afterwards:

The driver, Leo Prinsloo, is an ex member of the SAPS Task Force and is the head instructor of Fortis Pro Active Defence Solutions’ Lone Operator courses.

The links did not copy with the text, but they are deep in the Reddit link.
FROM:
https://www.reddit.com/r/nextfuckinglevel/comments/n2k84f/credit_ujoller_this_is_the_operator_who_kept_his/

When I search up his name, you get similar results from an academy called: “The Edge Shooting Academy” and their website is: Click Here

This academy appears to be situated in South Africa around here based on their website and seems to be mainly operated by Leo himself.

On this website you can find the following information about Leo:
“Leo (HK) Prinsloo served 17 years in the South African Police Service. Twelve of these years were spend in the SAPS Special task force unit. This is a counter terrorism unit.

Mr. Prinsloo served this unit not only as an operator but also as an elite marksman (sniper).”

Their Facebook that appears to be owned by Leo himself: Click Here
Leo’s Linkedin: Click Here

Anyways thanks for OP for saying the name of the man of steel cuz I was curious as heck.

Too bad the video stopped when the driver grabbed the rifle from his buddy and jumped out of the vehicle.
Looked like the driver was itchy to dole out a whole lot of hot lead.

I don’t think they use armored vehicles to haul around cell phones. Lol.
