The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated, you’ll be solving them all within a few days. If you’re stumped, take a break and return to it.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram ASK THE GROUP FOR HELP!
I suggest printing these out and work them on paper. If you need a little help you can copy and paste it to Hal’s Helper below.
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper, but I recommend that you do NOT look at the letter counter.
One last request. Feel free to post a fun or clever clue, the more tangential to the quotation the better, but please don’t put the actual words of the quote in the clue.

I really struggled with yesterday’s puzzle, but today’s only took about a minute - I guessed right on ‘WZ QNZ’ which really helped.

I shouldn’t have looked at this hint.
It gave me the author’s name and thus many letters.

My wife and daughter are members of that profession.
I don’t think many picked up on the hint. still good job....
Pretty quick......
I did too. In fact, I ended up cheating.... Then in retrospect I should have gotten the author... Not too many one named authors out there....
Cicero
Confucius
Shakespeare
Voltaire
Plato
Machiavelli
Buddha
Trump lol
etc
I don’t believe I’ve seen that version of the story, but the dialogue jumped right into my brain. Then I checked the author and it fit.
The only version I remember seeing was on Playhouse 90 or Armstrong Circle Theater or one of those shows from the 50s.
2 minutes.
What is he showing, his fake hand?
I joined the 90-second club nikos!
I correctly guessed the single word in 5,8,11 & 14 and that, as they say, opened it up.
However, I disagree with the sentiment, which may have once been true but is no more.
Great job!!!!
Buy a couple scratch offs. Might be your lucky day.
No scratch-offs in Alabama! I’ll have to find a cockfight or a dog fight or something.
Easy peasy
