Mouth and MacNeal - "How Do You Do" (1972)
Out On The YouTube ^

Posted on 04/29/2021 5:23:55 PM PDT by SamAdams76

This was a MASSIVE pop hit back in 1972 and it was a very happy, positive song at that. You don't hear much of that on the radio these days.

In the linked video, "Mouth" was doing his best Hank Williams Jr imitation (way before Hank Jr started looking like that himself) and Maggie MacNeal (still alive and kicking today) was her usual playful self.

Yes, they were Dutch, not that there's anything wrong with that. No, they weren't married. Though I thought so at the time.

Yes, they were Dutch, not that there's anything wrong with that.

So were The Shocking Blue (of "Venus" fame), and The George Baker Selection ("Little Green Bag")

I have a Dutch Oven.

Really awesome for cooking whole chickens by the way. Meat falls right off the bone.

T’was a fun song, the type meant to be sung acapella or in small live groups.

Thanks for posting that! What a great song.

Here’s one of my ‘happy’ faves from 1972, too:

Nothing I enjoy more than some good Dutch Chicken.

With fritters.

Sad news about George Kooymans, they’d been together since 1961.

I didn’t know they were still around and playing together until I saw that article.

Blue Oyster Cult put out a new album last fall.

A favorite tune of Mom’s. She cringes about the lyrics. Mouth passed away some years ago. Heart attack.
