The Drudge Report’s drift from its original Internet rebelliousness took another step into mainstream irrelevance with a purge this week of links to pioneering conservative sites
The Gateway Pundit, World Net Daily, Free Republic and Lucianne.com. Also reportedly gone are links to the late Rush Limbaugh’s site and columnist David Limbaugh.
Infowars and ZeroHedge survived the purge, however one report observed ZeroHedge was delisted for a time this week.
Last month the Press Gazette reported the Drudge Report lost over forty percent of its traffic year-on-year from February 2020 to February 2021, “Influential conservative news aggregation site the Drudge Report saw its year-on-year visits fall by 41% from 71.4 million to 42.4 million.”

Can you provide some examples of what you are talking about? GP is not a blog btw but I see FR insists on classifying as such even though they are ‘reporting’ and ‘investigating’ news. So I’d be interested to see what specifically you are referring to. Thanks.

Drudge report was how I linked over to GR back in 1997. I remember seeing FR back in the bbs days. I was surprised to see the link on Drudge, who was far ahead of the news cycle back then. Sad to see how his site went so far downhill.
It’s even worse than what was reported. Traffic in July 2016 was 1.47 billion views.

Now it is 42.4 million for the entire year? Is my math correct? Is that a monthly drop of 99.67% since July 2016?

I think you’re right. I dropped going there after Trump became President and mistakenly have only been back a few times since.
