The 93rd Academy Awards ceremony, broadcast live from both Union Station and the Dolby Theatre in L.A. on ABC, hit a staggering low.
Per Nielsen Live+Same Day preliminary national numbers, an average of 9.85 million viewers tuned in on Sunday evening to watch a more intimate and stripped-down version of the Oscars in the midst of a pandemic. That’s a 58.3%, 13.75 million viewer drop-off from last year. The Academy’s third host-less show in a row scored a 1.9 rating among adults 18-49 in the fast national ratings, a 64.2% dip from 2020.
For comparison, last year’s ceremony garnered a 5.3 rating in the key demographic and 23.6 million viewers

I didn't watch and did not know he was in the running BUT KUDOS to him!
But people who can bounce a rubber ball, why they are deep thinkers and experts on everything.
Once upon a time the Oscars were a fun evening for movie fans. But, the woke culture has killed it just like it ruins everything.

I watch little TV but when I do, most commercials on all networks feature blacks & homosexual males - rarely a white heterosexual male and never a normal white heterosexual couple.
Yep that pretty much covers it. The first oscars were like a dinner banquet and fairly low key but that changed over the years. Now since politics intrudes so much it’s just a big bore.
Regarding 2 and 3. If the movies were any good, the fact they were on streaming services would have meant even more people watching and hearing about them. The content was garbage, not the distribution.
And the "woke" either don't notice they are committing suicide or their "causes" and ribbons are worth it and the people buying tickets, well half can go to he*l.
The polls all lie to us, the American people, about Failed, Democrat, Faux POTUS Biden & Democrat, VP, Kamala Harris, who are two confirmed “ZEROS” and,”Hollywood” has slit its own throat with political nonsense. Who makes money in films today?...why Hallmark & Small Independent film producers that stick to the business they are in!!! Hollywood has killed itself and no one in America cares or listens to a word they utter...fools that all of them are!!!
Glad people are avoiding this trash.
I did catch a clip online of Glenn Close answering trivia, praising Spike Lee, and embarrassing herself by shaking her rear. The trivia/talking part at least was obviously rehearsed, but whatever it takes to fool the woke crowd, I guess.

This is great! Hollywood and sports lost thier star attraction power. Time to attack public schools and unions next and the DNC is neutered!
