I teach and my district doesn’t require masks.
Useless and, actually, counterproductive. They hinder an easy and harmless contribution to natural herd immunity.
Those disposable blue masks are nothing but a moisture barrier; the COVID virus is so small it’s like a chain link fence trying to stop mosquitos.

yeah. it’s turning out that they haven’t make much of a difference individually or statistically in terms of slowing covid, as many studies including the cdc’s are showing. i thought they might make statistical difference early on, but i was completely wrong about this. there’s apparently not even a 2% difference in transmission between areas that didn’t lock down and areas that did.
as far as making an individual difference, unless you use them correctly and constantly with N95 level masks, they won’t help you either.
even if they did help adults, kids and youth shouldn’t have been forced to wear them at all since they are basically unaffected medically by the CCP virus, anyway, as we knew very early on.

Some in my area require them, some don’t.
When parents resist school boards muzzling their kids, I’ll join their effort. Until then, I’ll do absolutely nothing.
