Five years ago, 63% of Americans mostly watched television through cable and satellite. Today, that percentage has dropped to fewer than half of all Americans, while the percentage of those primarily watching television via a streaming service on the internet has jumped 17 percentage points, from 20% in 2016 to 37% today. About one in 10 Americans watch their TV through a digital antenna, which replaced old-fashioned broadcast television several years ago.

Interesting. Thanks for the info, and I will keep it. Not sure if I’ll DO it, but will keep the post.
You switched one LEFTIST source for another.
Oscars tonight are full tilt WOKE.
I just pull my hearing aids when hubby nearly 81 puts on crap I don’t like. He wired it for local TV too. 6 or more remotes, best I can do is off/on, mute.
That was an awesome movie by the say. Sort of like a Titanic film in which a few people ended up surviving at the end - but not without having to go through the usual hi-jinks.
Surely you can't be serious!
If you don’t mind watching commercials, that’s fine. For me, it’s torture. I prerecord everything as each hour of network tv has 20 minutes of commercials. I pay extra just not to watch the stuff. Watching a program 30 minutes or an hour after it is aired is no big thing.
right. how many people realize they are funding CNN, MSNBC, etc whether they watch or not? their monthly check gets divvied between the channels in the basic bundle.
if cable systems went a la carte it would stop this forced funding.
is it about the monthly budget or is it about funding the woke media?
i simply refuse to pay to be lied to.
youtube is woke media. ISPs are woke corporations. you’re lied to nearly every day by virtually everyone; the trick is being able to spot the lies.
it’s life. you need to deal with it.
Funny that a guy from CBS is saying this.
being able to differentiate important stuff from dumb stuff is also a good practice. wearing your lack of utility bills like some weird badge of honor is not a good practice.
declaring your TV to be guilty of crimes against humanity is likewise a poor practice.
Definitely spend little time watching the idiot box
Never ever had had a TV since left home in 1980s
I don’t watch movies either
“idiot box”
That was my grandfather’s name for it. I haven’t heard that in years.
It’s more true now than ever.
Which brings up the question; why are you wasting your time making stupid remarks on a thread concerning a subject you consider to be “dumb stuff”? Surely someone with such a high opinion of his own intelligence can find a more lofty topic to spend time on.
Yeah I agree. Just shifting means of how one watches and not the content is deck chair shuffling.
“I spend $20 month to get YouTube without commercials. Also, I paid $65 for a year of vpn through ustvgo.tv which includes just about any cable channels plus hbo and showtime, all the sports channels, etc. You can check it out for free on some channels, but if you want more premium content you have to pay for the vpn. I figure $65 a year vs $150 month to concast is worth it to me.”
Just for general information, you can still get most channels including Cinemax and Starz without a VPN.
entertainment. and it’s free. see how I did that?
All video entertainment is leftist.
The last time I watched TV was September 3, 2008, Sarah Palin’s VP acceptance speech at the Republican Convention.
Haven’t missed it at all. Don’t own a working TV.
There is a website that streams those local broadcast stations. Dont have the link. Surprised how many were available.
