A former Oklahoma resident is facing felony embezzlement charges for not returning a VHS tape rented in Norman more than two decades ago.
Online documents show Caron McBride is a wanted woman for never returning 'Sabrina the Teenage Witch' on VHS tape in 1999.
"The first thing she told me was felony embezzlement, so, I thought I was gonna have a heart attack," McBride said.
McBride said she first learned about the charges when trying to change her name on her license after getting married in Texas.
"I went to change my driver's license, during this COVID thing you had to make an appointment, and so, I sent them an email (and) they sent me an email and they told me... that I had an issue in Oklahoma and this was the reference number for me to call this number and I did," McBride said.
McBride said the number was to the Cleveland County District Attorney's Office, where a woman there told her about the charges filed against her.
"She told me it was over the VHS tape and I had to make her repeat it because I thought, this is insane. This girl is kidding me, right? She wasn't kidding," McBride said.

So is it “flaunting” or “flouting”?

I wonder sometimes, whatever happened to video stores? Why did they go out of business? I would still go there, if they were still in business. I never got into internet streaming or hundreds of channels on satellite TV.
Ah, here we go.
If you treat a convention with disdain you are flouting it. If you make an ostentatious display of something then you are flaunting it. So why is this a problem? Mainly because people seem to have the habit of using flaunt to mean flout.
“Witch” is obviously a sexist reference and since she was in possession of an item that associated it with an underage female, this clearly rises to the level of a felony offense in today’s jurisprudence. She’s just lucky she didn’t mis-gender the person in question or it might have been a death penalty case.

The crime rate in Oklahoma must really be down to be doing this to keep semi law enforcement dolts working.
So the flout the flaunting?

Try your local library. I still get dvds that way. And I return them. Also, we have Redbox in supermarkets, which are rental vending machines.
Depends on her identity. If the is a conservative, White, Christian she will end up labeled as a terrorist. If she is a good leftist drone, charges dismissed with an apology and something for inconveniencing her.
Obviously she didn’t return it because of racism and white privilege.
