TikTokers are ditching frying pans to make their bacon.

Instead home chefs are getting crispy strips by twisting and baking their bacon slices. This rising viral trend appears to have gotten its start in mid-March with the hashtag "twisted bacon."

So far, the hashtag has nearly 100 videos attached to the term, which has amassed more than 217,400 views.

TikTok users have also hashtagged variations, including "bacon twist" and "bacon twists," which both have dozens of videos that have garnered more than 240,200 views combined.

On April 6, TikTok creator Richard Eats shared a twisted bacon tutorial that seems to have sparked interest in the cooking method with its more than 107,100 views.

Richard says baking the twisted strips at 375 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes resulted in the "crispiest and chewiest bacon" he has ever had.

I prefer the microwave, over bacon with papertowel, mic one minute per slice comes out perfect.

I routinely bake bacon for about 20 minutes at 400. Works great.

Can’t do it with my bacon. I buy 5 pound bags of ends and pieces. (We eat a lot of bacon) but it’s so much cheaper and the ends, if baked, are absolutely the best. Big, thick, chewy, with a touch of crisp.

Hold each end of the bacon and twist in opposite directions...

No wonder my twisted bacon always fails...I hold each end and twist in the same direction. D’Oh!

Just try rolling each strip in brown sugar and baking at 350 until its done to suit you...better than any candy you ever tried...

What the hell is “Sous Vide”, Be-Baw?! :)

Best way to cook steak that's hot and pink on the inside with a great sear on the outside...

I thought so and after seeing it used and demonstrated on a few different cooking shows, I was eager to try it.

Commercial kitchens utilize them extensively.

While many have an opinion of the "best" bacon ever, bacon cooked in a bacon mug might just be the best.

I start my bacon in the microwave between paper towels until about 90% done, then do the final crisping in the pan. Less spattering and less grease in the pan. If you use the grease as lard or cooking fat it’s not the way to go; most of it’s in the towels.

So much of “social media” is simply rediscovering what prior generations already know. The “influencers” act like they invented something new.

My wife has been cooking bacon in the oven for years. Put it on baking rack on top of baking pan. Take it out when almost done, apply maple syrup, and put it back to finish.

Try adding some cocoa powder to the brown sugar and just a dash of salt.

We just microwave our bacon. Wife like it crispy, I like it chewy - 2 batches cooked in about 10 minutes total. I use a ridged bacon cooker that drains most of the grease away from the meat - I probably pour off 1/2 cup of grease every day. (Of course I save some of it for bean seasoning or the occasional pot of haluski).

Still prefer hog jowl or, if I could get it, slab bacon though.

When we have baked potato for dinner, wife makes several potatoes.

Then the next morning, she makes bacon, then slices up the baked potatoes, and fries them with onions in the leftover bacon fat to make home fries (the potatoes soak up the bacon fat).
