That’s Windows in a nutshell. Ten of thousands of patches that do nothing but bloat the software.

Now, now, I've asked you a million times not to exaggerate.. lol.

What else I can say is apparently you don't like Microsoft's business model, that of selling space to third party apps. MS appears to be fairly successful with their business model without benefit of your opinion... Mmm? And you have choices, you don't have to use windows.

May I point out that, if you install Windows correctly, easy to do if you do if you research it, Windows will run smoothly, fast, and be trouble-free until your physical machine dies of old age. Or hire done to do it. If a new installation is not set up correctly, you will have bad kharma... popups, warnings, questions, menus so full you can't find anything... Do your setup and enjoy life. Windows is a great piece of software. Like a car, you have to learn how to drive it. Younger people have no problem, you may notice.

Not offhand.

Just grep the linus tree commit logs for recent ‘use-after-free’ fixes.

what I’m getting from the article is that the developers of the bugs just wanted linux to act like windows

P.S. When Window 3.1 was released, it was installed with 6 floppy disks. Windows 10 is like 25 Gbytes.

When DOS 2.0 was released, it fit on one floppy. And the floppy drive was 500 bucks, that put a debt in my credit card.

Actually, I've used many flavors of unix since I set up a friend's server on the net, remember Mozilla? I finally settled on Ubuntu when it came out and use it to this day, mostly for Kodi. But to the point, all OS's have to be set up for the the individual. Otherwise it's like driving a new car from a dealership, tires not balanced, mirrors not adjusted, seat too far back... You can't drive like that. But most people use their new computer like that and then try to work.
