I like his interview in the Classic Album episode on Bat. He came up writing operas. When asked about why his songs are so long he said “I don’t write long songs, I write short operas, not a lot of people can get a 3 act opera into 8 minutes.”
Bummer man!. The 1st BAt album was one of the greatest. I am glad He and Meat reconciled what ever differences they had before Jim passed.
I work for a small community bank in a conservative community. There are a few of us old heads, but mostly young folks. I walked in from lunch one day and I could hear the bank sound system playing “Paradise by the Dashboard Lights”. it wasn’t blaring loudly, but you could hear it.
Most of our lobby employees had never heard the song. After I got them to change the music program, I schooled a few of them on that particular song. In the end it was ok because no customers were offended, but I think it opened a few eyes to pay a little more attention. Several smiles popped on young faces when they actually listened closely to the song. It is a darned good song and hilarious, just not appropriate for a bank lobby!!!!
