This is something that was discussed frequently in our Hazmat training many years ago... It is not really new information but always suprising to see it manage to bubble to the surface despite EPA and greenie fear mongering.

It is a little like the Buffalo Theory.

THE BUFFALO THEORY.... (From an episode of 'Cheers', Cliff is seated at the bar describing the Buffalo Theory to his buddy, Norm.)
"Well you see, Norm, it's like this. A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members.
"In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Now, as we know, excessive intake of alcohol kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. And that, Norm, is why you always feel smarter after a few beers"

Long time ago, I was exposed to my yearly radiation dose in 30 minutes. It did not hurt me and I am doing fine.

The prevailing medical model of the harmful effects of ionizing radiation is based on an exaggerated concentration on the role of DNA in cancer development. There are clearly chemical and environmental agents that affect cell reproduction but most catastrophic changes to DNA render the cell unviable. Only very improbable and widespread targeted changes can actually disrupt cell functioning in ways that result in cancerous growth in large enough numbers to avoid the bodies natural error correction processes.
An emerging new model is one that is being researched by Michael Levin at Tufts University. He has found that individual cells actually communicate electrically with other cells to collectivize and synchronize their individual behaviors. His hypothesis is that cancer develops when these electrical messages are interfered with such that cells become selfish and grab as much of the growth resources available without cooperating with the surrounding cells. He is looking at restoring the electrical pathways using ion channel controlling drugs to reintegrate the selfish cells with the other healthy organ cells.

So when the magnetic poles flip we should all get healthier.

Does this mean that my 100 year-old house old house will be worth more if the basement radon detector reads high?

Decades of Scientific Theory Disproven

It is not so much Scientific theory, but regulatory theory.

The J-shape of the ‘toxicity’ curve has been clear for decades. There is a range - very small - where radiation damage appears to stimulate cellular healing mechanisms.
