BETHEL PARK, Pa. — There have been some negative side effects reported worldwide from the Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines, but a Bethel Park woman told Channel 11 she has been affected by something that hadn’t been seen at all yet: paralysis.
The 33-year-old woman, who asked to remain anonymous, said she felt fine in the hours after getting the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine last week. However, she said 12 hours later, she woke up in the middle of the night with no feeling in her arms or legs.
“It was the scariest thing in the world to go to sleep completely fine (and walking), to wake up 1:30 in the morning and not be able to move at all,” the woman said. “I’m literally counting on my daughter to hand me my phone to call to get help.”
Paramedics came and rushed her to Jefferson Hospital. In the coming days, she was moved to Allegheny General Hospital in the Northside and then the Cleveland Clinic -- as doctors ran a multitude of tests to figure out how and why this happened. An MRI and spinal tap were clear, and her blood work all came came back negative, ruling out any rare diseases or disorders.

She’s 33 and paralyzed. Damn. I’m 71, with 5 co-morbidities and had no reaction at all. Prayers for her.
But you signed up for it, guinea pig. Prayers for YOU.
This shot phase of the scamdemic is a horror show.
Yes, definitely. I got my second dose of the Pfizer last Thursday and had a bad headache for a day or two but nothing like this. Praying that this is only temporary for her.
It’s a good thing some are too scared to take a vaccine. We need a control group to test the efficacy of the unnatural virus and all its variants.
Prayers up for all the “brave” anti-vaxers!
For something that has less chance of killing me than getting struck by lightening.
Of course, if I NEVER went outside I would have zero chance of getting struck by lightening....
So did she.
Thanks for the “kind” words, anti-vaxer.
Oh puleeze!
My refusal to take some rushed to the market, highly political vaccine has nothing to do with fear. It's just plain old common sense.
“ It’s a good thing some are too scared to take a vaccine.
You misspelled wise.
Risking a disease with a 2% chance of serious health risk when there is an easy way to prevent it is nonsensical.
There are around half a million Americans that if still with us would have loved to have had the chance to prevent their death.
You misspelled wuss.
Time will tell. But the "shot" was rushed and it is experimental and we are guinea pigs for this MRNA gene therapy.
“Luckily, she has been able to regain feeling and strength in her arms, but she still has no function from her lower chest down besides very slight movement in a few toes.”

Hopefully her recovery will continue and her paralysis is only temporary. Prayers up for her and others suffering vaccine side effects or effects of the CHICOM-SENT VIRUS ITSELF.
I’m beginning to believe that this vaccine is most effective with people with weaker immune systems. Those with healthy immune systems seem to have more complications.
Just get the shot.
Not a chance in hell of that happening. It just so happens to be my life and my body. Isn’t that what you lefties scream about abortion?
I’d agree with that; good point.
No, I spelled it correctly - w.i.s.e.
I will wait until the human trials are complete.
Good luck. May the odds always be with you.
