In a document called “Deshaun Watson’s Original Answer,” his side argues why there is no merit to the case now that it has the names of his accusers. It claims that eight of the plaintiffs “bragged about, praised and were excited about massaging” Watson; seven of them either offered to work with Watson or were happy to do so after the alleged incidents; three of the accusers lied about the numbers of sessions the two parties had; five plaintiffs said they were trying to get money out of Watson, according to people they had spoken with; five plaintiffs “lied about their alleged trauma and resulting harm and five others erased their social media accounts.
“It was not until the plaintiffs saw an opportunity for a money grab that they changed their stories to convert therapy sessions they bragged about to friends and family to something much more nefarious,” the document reads.
In another part, regarding Watson’s accusers keeping appointments with him after the date of the alleged harassment, it says: “This, of course, raises the question of why they would agree to follow-up therapy sessions when they claim their experiences made them feel like they ‘wanted to vomit’ and caused them to ‘no longer accept massage clients, for fear of a repeat of this type of harassment.’”

But on the other hand, I have seen how some women behave around professional athletes (and athletes encourage it), and “money grab” is also a very plausible scenario

Even if it were true, there are somethings you don’t want to be the one to say.
Oh, please. That's your story? I don't know what actually happened, but these kinds of BS suits clog the courts with what appears to be a money grab. My guess is that 99% of such suits would disappear if the legal system simply stated that, if the suit turns out to be false, the defendant is awarded triple damages.
Fire those nerds.
Glad his lawyer is fighting back. Maybe he’s in the wrong, maybe he isn’t, but trial by social media needs to be resisted.

The lack of attention this story has received from mainstream sports and media outlets is breathtaking.
Sure, Watson isn’t Tom Brady or Drew Brees, but he’s not a nobody either. Imagine how this story would be covered if it were a contemporary of Watson, maybe Baker Mayfield.
Would Mayfield still be a Brown if a dozen or women accused him of sexual misconduct? BTW, I’m not saying Watson doesn’t deserve the presumption of innocence. But, I am saying he wouldn’t be getting that presumption if he weren’t a black QB.

It is weird, because before it came out he was prominently in the news for his desired to be traded from Houston.
I am not sure he’s getting a presumption of innocence. He’s been dropped by his sponsors, and some other athletes/former athletes were blasted and forced to resign for defending him.
Exactly. That was arguably the biggest off-season NFL story at the time. Then, Watson magically disappeared from ESPN and many other mainstream sports outlets.
Admittedly, other than this story, I hadn’t seen a lot of about it in several weeks. But, the last I had heard, he had only lost one sponsor. Have there been more now that have abandoned him?

The majority of the players in the NFL are black guys. So for people to walk in that locker room, and the majority of that locker room is black, are the white guys tagging along? Are the coaching staff tagging along? I know coach [Bill] O’Brien already said he’s going to tag along. I know he’s going to take a knee and he said he’s going to support us, regardless of what we say.”

Yeah, I didn’t realize Nike dropped him. Although, I think it’s interesting that the deal is ‘suspended’ and not terminated.
