Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has backed Democrats’ effort to pack the Supreme Court by adding four new seats that would be filled by President Joe Biden, arguing the courts should not be allowed to overturn laws passed by Congress.
The Washington Times reported:
“I do think we should be expanding the court,” she told reporters.
The New York Democrat, part of the progressive “Squad” collective on Capitol Hill, reasoned the justices overturning laws is part of the problem with the 6-3 conservative majority.
“The idea that nine people, that a nine-person court, can overturn laws that … hundreds and thousands of legislators, advocacy and policymakers drew consensus on … we have to … just ask ourselves, I think as a country, how much does that current structure benefit us? And I don’t think it does,” she said

God, I hope this woman doesn’t breed with her soyboy cuck white boyfriend. Her genes need to die off to raise the collective IQ of the nation.
I imagine she can do simple math like calculating tips.
No insult to bar maids in general was intended.
Obviously a real Constitutional scholar. Of course the Democrats mostly view the Constitution as toilet paper so I guess it makes sense.
yup!
There you have it... I KNEW she couldn’t pass a HS civics course!
She doesn’t even understand how our government system WORKS.
Overruling unconstitutional or even illegal legislation is their job - toots.
Congress already has the power to declare certain subjects off-limits to Supreme Court review. They have simply never chosen to exercise that power.
Article III states: “In all the other Cases before mentioned, the supreme Court shall have appellate Jurisdiction, both as to Law and Fact, with such Exceptions, and under such Regulations as the Congress shall make.”
Nowhere in the Constitution is SCOTUS given the power to overrule laws passed by Congress or the Legislatures. It gave itself that power in Marbury v Madison and has never been challenged over it.
Makes for a nice ride. Seriously though AOC is an idiot. But a dangerous one with legislative power.
She’s not to be underestimated.
Is that a photoshopped picture?
So we should throw out all those rulings where the Court overruled Congress and the state legislatures to impose liberal doctrines, e.g., abortion and gay marriage?
Dunno. Probably though.
It’s false but accurate!!
There are two conservatives on the USSC.
Three middle of the roaders.
Three committed leftists.
And NWO Roberts.
For long time, we had legislations nullified by liberal judges. It was great. Now, somehow, it is not?
Military-related issues aside, patriots can bet that if a given federal spending program is not reasonably related to the U.S. Post Service, then the program is unconstitutional and win the bet probably most of the time.
"Article I, Section 8, Clause 7: To establish Post Offices and post Roads;"
"10th Amendment: The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."
”From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added].” —United States v. Butler, 1936.
To put a stop to unconstitutional federal government overreach, patriots need to primary (2022) federal and state lawmakers who don’t agree to do the following about state powers stolen by the corrupt feds.
When the federal government accuses someone of violating a law, judges and law enforcement officials should be required to do the following.
Judges and law-enforcement officials need to inform the accused of the constitutional clause(s) that arguably justifies the allegedly broken law for further scrutiny of the constitutionality of that law, especially where unconstitutional federal peacetime gun control laws are concerned imo.
She advances an argument conservatives have been making for years.
When it comes to determining constitutional law, the legislative, executive and judicial are equals.
It’s incredible to me that so many can be so ignorant of how dangerous court packing truly is. If they can expand the court to 13 justices, can we expand it to 113 next time we have a solid conservative in the White House and a Congress willing to play ball?
What happens to the balance on the court then? Sure, they could potentially do this in the short term, but the long term consequences for the country are so terrible that they shouldn’t even be considering this, let alone talking about it. It’s an insane idea that can only lead to disaster.
Imagine how stupid her whelps are going to be. No amount of intelligent DNA can overcome that much 'Tard.
