Captain America Civil War is an amazing super-hero movie. It is the model of how to have a large cast of characters in a film with action, humor, plot, and heart. The only thing it lacks is a Constitutional law. The gross civil rights violations are reason enough for Captain America to go rogue.

“The Sokovia Accords are the size of a phone book that mandate personal conduct. That is always a warning to anyone concerned about civil rights.
Immediately the Sokovia Accords raise two huge issues: mandatory conscription and arresting citizens without Due Process.”

The problem with comic books is that they are not real. Movies based on comic books are pretty realistic but still not real. The world in which super heroes live is fictional. Quite a lot is borrowed from the real world but that varies with the storyline. Superman has been going on for 80 years. Kal El was sent in a rocket from Krypton in the 1940’s. He is still working for the Daily Planet 80 years later and doesn’t look a day over 30. Spiderman was a teenager in 1964 and he is still a teenager, at least the Peter Parker Spiderman. 60 years almost. Don’t ruin the experience by debating constitutional issues in an imaginary and fictional world.

Ironic, since the actor who plays Cap, Chris Evans is a flaming lib who is supporting a black female Marxist for NYC mayor:

There are people out there (as evidence by a video segment on the Jimmy Kimmel live late night show) that actually believe Wakanda is a real country. So the message must be spread that comic book movies aren’t real.

Thanks for posting this as it shows the gross violations of the protagonists' civil rights (and imprisonment in a Guatonamo hole) without any recourse toward the law or justice. I appreciate how the writers artfully made the film work within the convoluted Marvel plan. Getting 14 or so movies from almost as many directors gelling toward an overall master plot conclusion had never been attempted before and they deserve massive credit for pulling it off.

Now about Kal-El paying for all that damage to Metropolis when he should have dragged Zod away or into space...
