A. This clown doesn’t understand the difference (and overlap) between private browsing and anonymous browsing.

B. “Big Tech” already has a way to thwart them. reCAPTCHA, which bills itself as protection against hackers, indiscriminately denies service to users of anonymous browsers in order to force them to use something that makes them individually identifiable and trackable.

I get it. Nobody likes somebody peeking in their window. But, at my age and lifestyle, anybody spying on me is going to be one bored SOB! As a former LEO, I sure wouldn’t want to have been assigned that duty. There he goes... he’s feeding the cats... there he goes he’s taking a pee... There he goes... he’s mowing the yard... I sure feel sorry for the poor dumb SOB that’s gonna spy on me! He’s gonna need more than just covfeefe to stay awake. Having been a LEO... I realize the poor dumb SOB then has to write reports. Talk about “suck duty”!

I would no longer call Firefox a “privacy browser”. Any browser that want you to sign in is not a privacy browser, not to mention that they support cancel culture. I would not be surprised to learn that their pronouncements about privacy are a ruse to get you to lower your guard. They are not to be trusted.

I use Brave for a browser, combined with Ad Block to block ads and Ghostery to block trackers.

Ghostery does an outstanding job of tracker blocking. The number of trackers blocked on a web page is reported by a small number by the Ghostery logo on the address bar. For example, cnn.com has 26 trackers according to Ghostery. I’ve seen web pages where the number of trackers are 60+. Wow, that’s a lot of tracking.

Another add-on I use frequently is Reader View which takes a web page and strips out all the junk, etc. Very handy for getting around pay walls.

I use a combination of Palemoon (Mozilla based, for most of my browsing) and Slimjet (Chromium based, for bill payment only). That's it. I've tried others but keep coming back to those two.

Didn't know DuckDuckGo had their own brownser. Will check out that one, but that's probably about it.

I have been using Brave for years on my PC and on my iPhone, along with DDG search engine. Works great for me, and I highly recommend them to fellow Freepers.
