It’s all Greek to me - except of course the incredibly wonderful Gospel of the Grace of Christ which has nothing to do with religion which is one reason religious people hate it so much.
The Queen lives by her example...always has.
He was a hunk in his youth.
The monarchy remains in the UK because the royal family attempts to live with the same restrictions as everyone else. They learned from the toppled monarchies of their cousins.
Thank You for posting.
I agree someone should have been beside her. But maybe that was her voice. I just wanted to hug her.
Jesus founded a church. One and exactly one. If you intend to follow the Gospel, you have to find that Church and be a part of it.
I agree with you that she was sensitive to the privations visited on her subjects during the long shutdown and did not want to arouse resentments.
It is as if feminism never happened, to hear all the moaning about Elizabeth, the most recognized and seasoned diplomat in the world, having to sit by herself. She probably would have preferred it to having to "mother" a grieving relative during the service.
Elizabeth 2 is a remarkable woman of great personal strength that has been demonstrated, proven, and proven again and again since the 1950s. It's been gauche and frankly embarrassing that an American upstart tried to boss her around and compete with her. The upstart's excuse to Oprah? "Growing up, I didn't know much about the Royal Family." (eye roll) Yet she expected to outrank senior heirs to the throne based primarily on the crowds of encouraging fans wishing well to Harry—and on clicks and likes.
The service was exquisite and deeply religious. One of the commentators said that Philip actually commissioned some of the music. He was a greatly knowledgeable and and cultured man, a treasure of Western Civilization, never puffed up and arrogant like his two older sons, even though he was also descended from Victoria and many crowned heads of Europe. His experience in childhood of his mother abandoning him when his father was sent into exile, leaving him penniless, led him never to take wealth and position for granted. He worked steadily to improve everything in his orbit in quietly practical ways, seeking little recognition.
God provided a perfect mate for Elizabeth and a wise mentor to the most profoundly historic and influential nation in what was once called "Christendom."
RIP to a genuine prince of a man.
The second last admirable brit royal. any exceptions? I think not.
In Ecclus. 43.25 the word translated as "sea-monsters" is the same word which is found in the Greek text of Jonah (2.1) for the sea monster which swallowed Jonah (ketos, which becomes cetus in Latin).
“Whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” Romans 10:13.
No mention of your “Church” there at all. I, as Jesus did and does, will take God’s Word over your traditions of man any day.
Like million of others, I’m a born-again Christian who received Jesus without any help from your “Church”. Your “Church” may help you to get saved but only Christ saves, not “Church”.
Again, as Jesus warned the Pharisees, the religious mafia of his day, “[I]f you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins” John 8:24.
I don’t want you to die in your sins so if you haven’t received Jesus, do it now - he is the ONLY one who can save you because he is the ONLY one who died for all your sins - your “Church” never did that and your “Church” can never save you.
Prince Philip got the Queen angry at him years ago and she said to him that she would get even with him one day.
Fast forward and Prince Philip was buried under a compact parking spot of a parking lot next to that other King from long ago and the Queen personally parked the Landover truck on top of him...
True story. You can read about in the British papers : )
The William Croft settings for the funeral Sentences are beautiful.
“Croft’s Funeral Sentences were sung at George Frederic Handel’s funeral in 1759, and have been included in every British state funeral since their publication. They were used at the funerals of Diana, Princess of Wales in 1997, Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother in 2002 and Baroness Thatcher in 2012.” From Wikipedia
Here is a recording of them.

Don’t start. Not the time or place.
It gives her privacy to mourn the loss of her husband without “loosing face” thereby saving her dignity. The loss of a spouse is a hard loss. She sits as his wife, but also as a Queen. She was his only wife and has bourn many personal sacrifices. Nobody has shared that burden with her. She couldn’t even take his last name. And so, her sitting alone is symbolic of much as well as privacy and dignity in her day of sorrow.
