The research, carried out by professionals from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine's Working Dog Center, found that dogs can be trained to identify saliva and urine samples of patients who tested positive for COVID-19.
However, there is a certain concern for training such dogs, because since the ultimate goal would be for them to detect COVID-positive patients in a public setting and not from such samples, such training would be dangerous, as they would need to be trained around people who have tested positive for coronavirus.
In fact, the use of sniffer dogs to detect coronavirus in public spaces is considered a potential method for reopening international travel safely.
They would not need to sniff people directly, but could screen samples of sweat...

I feel there may be a spiritual component to this...I’ve heard of pets sniffing out other sicknesses as well.

The problem is that if the dog provides the wrong test results, he will not show up to court when you file a lawsuit.
I much prefer a pet who bangs on the door to let me me know it’s gotta poop, rather than just crapping in the kitchen.

As we are told several times a day on FR, there is no Covid 19.
So dogs can’t smell Covid 19, since it does not exist.
Their good at sniffing out the bull’s end product too.
But didn’t someone say that dogs/cats could catch the Rona, too.
The sense of smell is the only sense that has a direct connection to the brain.
Great Pyrenees’ are expert butt sniffers. There are videos.
