In preparation for a meeting, I placed a link to that video in one of the preparation document links. Two coworkers under 30 told me I made a mistake. Another in his mid 40s got a kick out of it. It was fun to explain Rick Rolling to the younger folks, but they still only politely laughed.

Fortunately, you can listen to “80’s on 8” via XM/Sirius radio, and hear the original VeeJay’s, Ms. Quinn included!

Martha Quinn was definitely the “girl next door’ cutie.
Fun fact...
Martha Quinn’s stepmother was Jane Bryant Quinn, a financial journalist.

Try a few of these - they might pique your interest!
“One Night In Bangkok” - Murray Head
“All You Zombies” - Hooters
“Kiss Me Deadly” - Lita Ford
“Legs” - ZZ Top
“I Want My MTV” - Dire Straits
One of those surprised me with it’s content... in a GOOD way, at that!

Funny, I guess he got the opposite of the Christopher Cross curse.
He’s got a durn good voice, though. Actually, they both did. Just one was too ‘cute’, and the other not, I guess. :P

The other night, I checked out "She Blinded Me With Science" by Thomas Dolby. One of the weaker tracks on "The Golden Age of Wireless", one of the best albums from the 80s, IMHO.

That one had some legs. But yeah, it’s interesting how humor doesn’t always carry down to the next generation.
