Hunter Biden’s Book Is a Sales Bust After First Week Despite PR Push (TV viewers saw a whiny Eddie Haskell)

.......the confessional memoir by Presidential ne’er do well son Hunter Biden is a flop after one week. NPD Book Scan says the book, in which Hunter whines about being a drug addict who slept around and has no memory of fathering a child, has sold just 10,000 copies in its first week. For a celebrity book with so much PR, TV appearances, etc, that’s not a lot.

On Amazon, it once ranked at number 130 and is now 177. Nevertheless, an early surge of sales based on Biden’s appearance on “CBS Sunday Morning” puts “Beautiful Things” at number 4 on the New York Times Bestseller list that comes out today. But that will be short lived. Last week, “Rock Me on the Water,” a terrible book about cultural trends in 1974, hit the list after its “Sunday Morning” plug. It’s gone this week.

Hunter’s TV appearances on CBS were embarrassing. He came off like Eddie Haskell from “Leave it to Beaver”: cloying, unsympathetic, whiny, sycophantic.

Hunter has a sad story, certainly: when he was a child his mother and sister were killed in a car accident. As an adult, his brother died from cancer. So Hunter turned to crack cocaine, slept with his sister-in-law, and fathered a child with a woman he doesn’t remember. Forget about his questionable business life. The guy is a creep. Instead of honoring his family, he brought them disgrace.

Meantime, NPD Bookscan reports that four of the bestselling books so far this year, and also in March, were by Dr. Seuss. They are: “The Cat in the Hat,” “Oh the Places You’ll Go,” “Green Eggs and Ham,” and “One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish.” This was after Dr. Seuss’s estate withdrew six of his old books because they had outdated racist images. That decision turned out to be the best sales PR ever! Hunter should have called his book, “Oh the Places I Went!”

He got paid. Put it aside for the next toilet paper shortage.

No problemo. The gubmint can just buy them all up. Order more. Make it a big smashing success. Then when he runs for president, they’ll be able to brag that he’s a best-selling author.

Yup. He got paid. There was never any expectation that the book would sell. That was never the point.

Exactly. This book was always expected to go straight to the bargain bin or furnace. The advance was the whole point.

As much as this fact gets ignored- there is no interest in a story that has no pursuit of virtue.

Any story of vice with no resolution does not sell. If it does, it does not last.

But....using drugs, impregnating a stripper, and pouncing on your dying brother’s wife are.”Beautiful Things.”

If Hunter stands by the accuracy of this book, then he should be prosecuted at state or federal level for lying on background form to purchase a gun.

There’s probably a Mayflower truck outside the WH full of books right now.

He got paid.

Yup. $2 million advance according to this Daily Mail story. Simon and Schuster, to be exact. Nice work if you can get it.

That book should be sold with a few pairs of disposable gloves packed inside. That way a reader need not touch this sticky collection of vile documentation.

I bet Government agencies have been required to buy 100s each. I’m sure that’s where the 10,000 figure came from. Just another Biden money-making pay-off scam. I also bet the big guy gets 10%.

When sh*t is just simply that, sh*t.
No matter how one tries to dress it, perfume it, etc., etc., sh*t will always remain sh*t.

Flush it. Nuff said.

Hunter should have published a Chinese translation. That way Xi could funnel some cash to the Big Guy legally.

$2 million? Not a bad price for protection money to the Biden family “business.”

The gubmint employee unions like SEIU will buy truckloads of Hunter Biden’s book for their library or the them as landfill. Can I take your order for 3 pallets of his book?
