From a tourist destination and business oasis that once attracted some of the richest people in the world and gave visitors the illusion of glitz and glamour to a shithole overrun by gangs, degenerate drug addicts, disease-ridden bums, and people bent on destroying our city, Las Vegas now looks more like a third-world country than a place to put on your travel bucket list.
Today, you can’t walk the Las Vegas strip without being bombarded by signs telling you to mask up and bizarre recordings telling people to maintain their social distance. But the so-called pandemic is the least of your worries, you are far more likely to be assaulted by homeless, disease-ridden, drug addicts or the criminals gangs that our local leaders have allowed to run wild throughout our town than catch the “cold” that shut down the nation.
We all know who they are trying to keep out, unfortunately, it’s not stopping that crowd from coming to Vegas. Instead of being inside of the Casinos – some of which now resemble ghost towns – they have taken to the streets assaulting tourists, and literally tearing down our cities monuments and infrastructure.
While walking the strip last night, we not only witnessed multiple arrests and people trying to start fights, but we also saw people who came here with the sole purpose of destroying our city, our infrastructure, and the monuments in front of the Casinos.

I’m just retired in the last 6mos...now that I’m free the leftists have taken away so many options....I like vegas....was just there....we stay off strip and didn’t see any of this crap but then again we don’t go on the strip....
“There was this kid I grew up with; he was younger than me. Sorta looked up to me, you know. We did our first work together, worked our way out of the street. Things were good, we made the most of it. During Prohibition, we ran molasses into Canada... made a fortune, your father, too. As much as anyone, I loved him and trusted him. Later on he had an idea to build a city out of a desert stop-over for GI’s on the way to the West Coast...
The city he invented was Las Vegas. This was a great man, a man of vision and guts. And there isn’t even a plaque, or a signpost or a statue of him in that town! Someone put a bullet through his eye. No one knows who gave the order. When I heard it, I wasn’t angry; I knew he was head-strong, talking loud, saying stupid things. So when he turned up dead, I let it go. And I said to myself, this is the business we’ve chosen; I didn’t ask who gave the order, because it had nothing to do with business!”
Yep, many were Mormons.
The recordings are surreal. I’ve not experienced the Las Vegas ones but the ones in rotation at my supermarket and airports and Lowe’s and similar are like you are on an alien planet. I am so sick of this.
Yeah your travel plans are probably in ruins.
Legalized pot and bringing in the Raidahs (and their fans)didn’t help.
got raided...
why can't cities prohibit bums from sleeping on the sidewalk?....why can't they be hauled away.....
even in my mid size city we have bums right along the street where would be visitors come and go....
I have no sympathy for these bums....
No need to go to Vegas anymore, there are 5 casinos within a few hours drive from me. It’s a shame it has turned into a sh!thole.
from memory?
went to Red Rock when we were there...
Oh, well, if I’m in the area, I’ll just take Clark County 215 around it rather than drive through it.
Leftism ruins everything that it touches.
Liberalism ruins cities, Las Vegas voted for this and they got it.
*************
Yep, they deserve the government they vote for. Chaos, crime and mob rule seem to appeal to some cities.
Expected - Democrat governor there.
We had some good times in Vegas. A highlight was an airplane flight around the Grand Canyon I loved the fact that if I had trouble sleeping I could go find a late night poker game. Now I wouldn’t leave the room.
The last time we were there a guy who rapped about being a gangster and a pimp and drove a Maserati that was leased and his dad was making the payments decided to mouth off to someone as he was leaving a rap concert. The man he was mouthing off to turned out to be a real pimp gangster who followed him down Las Vegas Blvd and shot him when they slowed for a traffic light. The fake pimp was fatally wounded but before he died he drove out into the intersection and killed some poor tourists who were minding their own business. That was our last memory of Vegas.
“Last time I was there, everything was overpriced. The cowboys were replaced by pony tail metrosexual guys jealously guarding the luggage carts in hotel lobbies so you had to schlep your own luggage to the room or give them a tip to use the carts. The showgirls were replaced by less than classy prostitutes.”
I haven’t been there in maybe 15 years. Since then I’ve read that they charge for parking and have ‘resort fees’ that are for the privege of walking through your hotel lobby, or using the casino.
No thanks, but also no big deal to me, as I’ve already written off this country. It was a good ride, but our WW2 Generation, the so-called ‘Greatest Generation’, didn’t bother to raise their kids, and so flat-out Communists got to, and then we looked the other way, as the cancer spread and spread. Game over, now. For me, now, it’s just a matter of getting rid of my house, and then getting out of here, for good.
I’ll spend my remaining years overseas, in places that are still able to be civilized (there are still some left).
Sam's Town on Boulder Highway is still our favorite. Safe, clean nicely situated with everything you need under one roof. About the same prices as the strip though.
Then we drive to the Golden Nugget and do Freemont Street just for the freak show.

No. Copied (and edited) from IMDB.com. I removed the name “Moe Greene” from the quote. Everyone knew Greene was loosely based on Bugsy Seigel and that Roth was loosely based on Meyer Lansky. Seigel was the man who started turning Vegas into more than just a cow town and, correctly, there’s nothing in Vegas to commemorate the mobster for his civic accomplishments.
