Time to prepare for yet another shortage.

According to new reports, pork products could be hard to come by this summer. While some products are already experiencing shortages, these may be made worse as restaurants reopen and people start having more social gatherings.

Some experts are predicting that outdoor events, like BBQs and cookouts, will be extremely popular this summer. Some experts are predicting that outdoor events, like BBQs and cookouts, will be extremely popular this summer. (iStock)

Some experts are predicting that outdoor events, like BBQs and cookouts, will be extremely popular this summer, Business Insider reports. This is reportedly due to the fact that while most Americans will be vaccinated by then, they’ll likely prefer outdoor events over indoor experiences.

These experts are also predicting that this will likely drive up the demand for meat, especially the types of meats cooked at BBQs. This includes a variety of pork products, such as hot dogs and bacon.

There’s plenty of pork running around in the wild.

my secret recipe for mylifes Yucatan poke chops:

get some .75..1” porkchops, squeeze on lime juice, a good dash of wostersirshire.. let that sit for a moment, then rub the chops down with bufalo brand chipotle sauce, salt and pepper.. then sprinkle with the zest of the lime and get them on the fire!

It takes 6 months to grow a pig for market. The farmers are always breeding, growing and trucking the pigs in cycles every few weeks. There might be a little lag time, but as long as there is not a shock like a regional weather event or a disease, the supply line can respond to demand.

Just like they did with toilet paper and paper towels during the early stage of the pandemic. Talk about a shortage to make people go out and hoard it. Had they not done that people would have bought normal amounts and we wouldn’t have run out.

feral hogs are not the same, but, if you trap them and feed them right for a couple months they are fine

The pork industry must feel left out of the “inflation” curve. This is BS-—period! More fear mongering....Gosh, I despise the “media”.

****Or stop eating pork. I stick to beef, chicken, lamb, and fish, enough there to keep me satisfied.****

No way-—when I run the smoker, all I do is pork! Ribs, shoulder, butte, sausage and the occasional chicken. A brisket takes too damn long and too expensive.
