Think about it. Anyone with the nerve, could extort vast sums of money from the Mexican or the US government, if they make enough noise, and somehow convince the mark or marks that they are ready to explode a dirty bomb. Imagine what would happen if such a bomb went off in a major US city, or Mexico City? Or even a tourism center on the coast?
Even corporations would be vulnerable. So far they have caved to less, like BLM and their extortion. Some arrogant showboat con man could set up such a scenario, and governments and corporations, even the church, would be coerced into forking over a ransom, potentially in the billions.
And it doesn’t have to happen tomorrow. A potential plotter might wait months or years, to catch their mark off guard, maybe. And that con man could just be bluffing, using the uncertainty of the situation to his advantage.
The US government has worried about this possibility for years, and it might be coming to fruition. Really a bad deal!
