REO Speedwagon gives George Floyd’s sister platinum plaque from siblings’ favorite song

REO Speedwagon presented LaTonya Floyd, George Floyd’s sister, with a platinum plaque Friday for the Floyds’ favorite song, “Keep On Loving You.”

LaTonya, 52, said the last time she spoke with George, the two sang REO Speedwagon’s 1980 No. 1 hit to each other, People magazine reported.

The band heard the story, and lead singer Kevin Cronin joined a vigil for George in Houston on Friday, according to People. Cronin and LaTonya sang “Keep On Loving You” together.

Afterward, Cronin gave LaTonya the song’s platinum plaque for selling more than 1 million copies.

So, the millions of dollars they'll be receiving (from the taxpayers, most likely) isn't enough? And I don't believe for a minute that this song was a favorite song of George Floyd - blacks rarely listen to music by whites (voluntarily, at least).

Yikes...can't tell who's a guy and who is a broad. I never knew who "The Wagon" had on their side but "classic" "rock" stations have been playing that crap since the 80s...over and over and over...for almost 40 years...non-stop!

I try to explain to my son why guys like Alfred Hitchcock were successful, as they understood human nature in the respect that they know that the senses get overloaded at some point! The true artists and entertainers are the guys (and girls) who incorporate that in their chosen art! Who the Wagon paid off to get their lame crap played on the radio is beyond me! From the looks of that "guy", maybe they had some videotape of some record execs in compromising positions. It's the only thing that makes sense to me!
