All the franchises I grew up with, a Generation Xer here, have been destroyed by Wokism. The only thing I can do is refuse to watch.

Not surprised - the quality of Hollywood movies has been in decline for decades. Their viewing market has expectations that Hollywood can't meet and so don't bother to try.
Recycling and rebranding for less discerning audiences has been all they have left for quite some time now.

Its a zombie franchise at this point. I didn’t watch “Fleabag” but a Brit actress doesn’t automatically equate to woke hell. Woke hell is humorless angry horrors pooping all over the audience with Hollywood going full on S&M on an audience that just wants a nice and conventional 90 minutes of escapeism.
Frankly, I’ve given up on Hollywood even as it seems to be scrambling to expand with “entertainment news” being constantly sprung on any unwary person who turns on the tv. In order to be a “celebrity” you should do something worth celebrating.
