Having seen elephants up close,in the wild (Kenya and South Africa)...and having watched about 10,000 African wildlife videos on youtube the last place I'd want to be is in an enclosed pen with an elephant.

I took a gal to the Sydney, Australia Zoo (or actually, she took me). We were young and silly and I climbed on the fence to get a closer look at the giraffes. I wasn’t going to climb over I just wanted get a clear view. They saw me and instead of running away they started running towards us! Didn’t take me long to climb back down :-)

I can only assume that they thought I might be bringing them food.
