Senators passed the constitutional amendment 23-9. It now goes to the state House of Representatives. The final version that comes out of the House will have to be approved by Alabama voters.

When we moved to Alabama going on 22 years ago, that was one of the first political topics that I got involved with... The people spoke and voted, and the amendment subsequently FAILED. I hope it fails again!
