Woods’ SUV was traveling between 84 and 87 mph — nearly twice the posted speed limit — when it struck a raised median, Villanueva said.
The vehicle was still traveling at about 75 mph as it then careened into a nearby tree in the area of Hawthorne Boulevard and Blackhorse Road.

Good thing for him, he wasn’t traveling by helicopter...
Standing up is now one of his problems...
I’ve driven on that road many times and I have no clue how anyone would NOT crash going that fast.
It happened to me. Sitting at a light, foot on the brake slipped off and when I went to slam the brakes back on I stomped the gas pedal on my F-250. Ended up pushing a little old lady through the light and around the corner.
“If Tiger were a stand up guy, like say Nicklaus, he would get on his crutches and hobble up to a mic and tell his side of the event as he recalls it.”
The fact he hasn’t told the public what happened says quite a lot. Drugs, alcohol and/or just idiotic speeding - take your pick.
It does happen. Remember all of the “unintended acceleration” furor about Audis, back in the 80s? People were claiming that their Audis were running away with them, even when they were standing on the brakes as hard as they could. Investigations showed that the drivers were hitting the gas instead of the brake, then panicking and pressing the gas pedal even harder.
That road is run of the mill. Only dangerous if you speed and look at your phone.
lol, then tell em to mind their own business :)
