MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - Rev. Al Sharpton led the family of George Floyd and others in a prayer Tuesday outside the Hennepin County Courthouse, where the trial of Derek Chauvin is taking place. Chauvin is the former Minneapolis police officer charged in Floyd’s death.
"We wept through many cases from Rodney King to Eric Garner to Michael Brown—some never reached the courthouse," Sharpton said. "But here we are now, in the shadows of a courthouse, praying for justice."
Among the attendees at the prayer were Floyd family attorney Benjamin Crump, Eric Garner’s mother Gwen Carr and former New York Governor David Paterson.
Philonise Floyd, George Floyd’s brother, spoke following the prayer, saying, "After we get the verdict and we get this conviction, we’ll be able to breathe."

The breathing won’t be so easy from all the smoke as Minneapolis will again.be burning regardless of what verdict is handed down by the jury
Hey Philonise, how many people did your brother George kill with the drugs he was selling?
How many did he kill robbing people?
He did not mind pointing a gun at a pregnant women in a home invasion in Texas.
‘After we get this verdict and we get this conviction, we’ll be able to breathe’
Liar.
It’ll be on to the next “outrage”. then the next. then the next...
“George Floyd’s brother: ‘After we get this verdict and we get this conviction, we’ll be able to breathe’”
George Floyd’s brother: ‘After we get this verdict and we get this conviction, (and huge lawsuit settlement) we’ll be able to breathe’.
Hey Philonise, don’t hold your breathe. Chauvin is NOT GUILTY. Even Ray Charles could see that.
Justice will be when Chauvin sues and gets his job back, with back pay, and then retires.
This defense lawyer guy does a great wrap up after each day’s testimony.
He leans pro-defense but is fair.
You have to lean pro-defense, just to be fair, in this sham trial.
