AUSTIN, Texas (KETK) – Gov. Greg Abbott issued an executive order early Tuesday morning that prohibits state agencies or political offices from having a so-called “vaccine passport.”
The order also prohibits organizations that receive public funds from requiring consumers to prove they have been vaccinated before they receive service.
“Everyday, Texans are returning to normal life as more people get the safe and effective COVID-19 vaccine. But, as I’ve said all along, these vaccines are always voluntary and never forced. Government should not require any Texan to show proof of vaccination and reveal private health information just to go about their daily lives.”
GOV. GREG ABBOTT Rangers fill stands with fans, who accept ‘calculated risk’
This executive order comes one day after the Lone Star State made national headlines for the first capacity crowd at a professional sporting event since the start of the pandemic.
The Texas Rangers allowed a sellout crowd to gather at their home opener in Globe Life Field Monday afternoon when they opened a three-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays. The Rangers dropped a 6-2 game in front of more than 38,000 fans.
Abbott also made headlines by declining a previously accepted invitation to throw out the first pitch after Major League Baseball moved the All-Star Game out of Atlanta due to a controversial elections bill was signed into law back in March.
Gov. Abbott won’t throw 1st pitch at Rangers game Monday, cites ‘false narrative’ on new Georgia voting laws “It is shameful that America’s pastime is not only being influenced by partisan politics, but also perpetuating false political narratives. This decision does not diminish the deep respect I have for the Texas Rangers baseball organization, which is outstanding from top to bottom. I wish the team great success this season,” the letter says.
Abbott said in the letter to the Rangers organization that it “doesn’t diminish the deep respect” he has for them.
Huh?
New Math..........
Houston Methodist can’t do that....
Let's see. Didn't the airline industry just get a whooping amount of public funds?
I haven't heard of any US governments planning to require a vaccine passport for anything.
Can you give me an example of one?
Nice, he's giving the sleeves out of his vest.
I haven't heard of one government in the US even thinking about demanding proof of vaccination.
I'm thinking what are you saying????
Giving the sleeves out of his vest????
What does that mean?
Sorry. Old negotiation term.
It means offering up something that sounds significant but isn't really of value at all.
In this case, barring governments from requiring vaccine passports sounds good but I don't think any of them were even considering it.
“Remember, Trump did not have a huge win in Texas.”
Once you factor out the voter fraud, I believe he did win biggly not just in Texas but in the majority of the states.
These Vaccines are not the same.
They are genetics experiments given under emergency use authorization, that creates GMO humans. (According to the FDA definition)
Oh, and prior to changing the definition of vaccine in 2020, these vaccines would not qualify.
Of course the vaccines aren’t the same. But, the same principle applies, either you take them or you don’t and can’t go to .gov schools and such. Aka a vaccine passport.
Houston Methodist must be HEAVILY invested in the experimental, unproven mNRA agent ‘vax’s’.
I think this is where/how the FL (DeSantis) and TX (Abbott) EOs differ...if I understand correctly....FL will prohibit state/public AND private businesses from requiring these absurd, unconstitutional passports.
Whereas TX is only banning public/state offices to do so?
Do I have that right?
I don’t think any governor has the authority to do that. I certainly hope not.
As far as I know so far Desantis has only said it was unacceptable, not tried to stop businesses.
I just posted an article about Norwegian Cruise Lines planning to require vaccinations. Hard to see a FL governor try to stop cruises from resuming.
Ooops....I meant to post this reply, to you, on THIS thread ... not the cruise thread :)
Maybe it’s Federal vs State bans.
DeSantis bans all, including Federal.....Abbott’s is only for state??
Trying to confirm....thanks.
What if .Gov made a rule that if you were too stupid to research an experimental drug to get to the truth that it was a health risk, you had to take it to get a driver’s license?
Would you take it?
It’s good to be living in Texas.
Well, until July and August.
Maybe people are too stupid because they have been getting vaccine passports aka immunization records for all sorts of reasons. Yes. People are stupid, and now they are complaining.
