Yahoo Sports Nearly half of American sports fans changed viewing habits because of social justice Jay Busbee Jay Busbee Mon, March 29, 2021, 3:26 PM·3 min read In the wake of last summer’s social justice protests, which consumed sports for much of the second half of 2020, nearly half of all Americans changed their sports viewing habits, according to a new YouGov / Yahoo News poll. As athletes and leagues embraced a new, progressive strategy aimed at amplifying messages of social justice and political advocacy, some Americans began watching more sports, but about three times as many watched less.
Of those who watch sports on TV, about 11 percent said they now watch more as a result of political and social messaging. However, 34.5 percent, more than one-third, said they are watching less. The vast majority, roughly 56.3 percent, said they watch about the same amount regardless of political or social messaging.

Well that’s true I suppose. I quit watching pro sports that have drunk the social justice kool-aid.

From television ads it appears that a huge number of sports fans are latino women (or latina or latinx, it’s difficult to keep up). Maybe they are the “natural conservatives” the Bush family was trying to tell us about!

This is a MSM poll so you know it is accurate.
The 11% “say” they are watching more. Oh, they are going to kneel, I have to watch. LOL.
34% watch less which is a significant number for the MSM to admit.
It is true for me. For nearly 50 years, I was a high level consumer of professional football. I can’t watch it now.
For me, what it came down to beyond the embrace of woke culture, was the over-the-top response of athletes who vocally castigated those of us who took issue, and they have the arrogant, disgusting, greedy attitude that they should be able to insult us directly and without reservation, while holding out their hand for our money they are certain we will pay because they fully feel that we are too weak to stop watching.
No doubt there are some who will not stop watching. I did not watch last year for the first time since about 1972, and I may watch reluctantly again because I have a vital personal life-long relationship I need to find a way to transition out of that atmosphere which has been something that has kept us in touch, and if I do watch, I have to find a way not to ruin it for him. I don’t know how to handle it, just feeling my way forward.
But I cannot enjoy watching as I used to.
Sorry should have said “MLB” instead of “NBA” - boycotting both and the NFL.

For Yahoo to publish this report, the ratings for the NFL have weakened and the NBA and MLB have probably dived. There is no honor or generosity among the woke. Soon all these woke networks will be demanding renegotiation of the contracts, will demand to pay less for the rights and may even cancel some national contracts. Would not be surprised to see some of the weaker baseball franchises go bankrupt.

This poll is more Fake News. Yahoo Sports is completely biased as they’re in the sports business and can’t let on that it’s far worse than they’ll admit to. Yahoo Sports was hired to spin it and hide the truth, not expose it.

And that’s just the ones that would admit to the person on the phone that they did. Remember: These polls often do not catch shy conservatives.
