The coterie of uneducated Freepers is strong tonight. Perhaps they do not celebrate Easter. Perhaps it’s their time to attack because that which they hate is working (vaccines).
But it has been explained a thousand times. Just because YOU disagree doesn’t make it wrong. The mitigation for Covid has in fact stopped influenza. I have personally run hundreds of influenza swabs and only has 2 positive cases.
Get a grip. There is no conspiracy. This is real. And anyone with an ounce of science sense understands why things are occurring the way they are

One wonders what will be in flu shots from now on. Maybe they will slip these mRNA things in and call them regular shots.
In my area, there were no “lockdowns” or mask mandates, but most people wore masks in indoor public places, kept their hands off of their faces and avoided getting too close to strangers. With such low fresh viral loads, why bother with flu shots? Light loads and tired viruses on floors don’t concern me much. Maybe a flu shot next fall, without the masks or extreme etiquette.
I didn’t bother wearing masks when in the presence of blue collar employees of garages, manufacturing shops (steel fab) or utilities, BTW. There’s more space, ventilation and good health in those places along with low human density around here (very small shops). And those who were exposed heavily enough to the China virus were probably exposed very early on (families, kids, etc.).
I don’t know much about biology, but my personal policy was reinforced by my family’s doctor. Take a few quick, easy precautions, and don’t worry at all about what might happen. The whole mess has been interesting, though. Learned new things.
And BTW, there’s heavy interstate traffic from quite a few states in the northeast and upper Midwest through the nearest towns with much of that traffic stopping for services, groceries and the like.
