Mel Blanc once had a band called the Tijuana Strings.

Never really minded them. I have no musical talent so I can judge. I have a divers taste in music. Only thing I don’t like is the random sounding jazz. Grew up in the 80s. So that time frame was all over the map.

Benny and Blanc were masters.

They made ONE decent album in 1975, “Journey”.

Since, nothing but high-school girl pablum.

I believe the divorce would be because one of the couple WAS a rhinestone encrusted douchebag.

He just never grabbed me stylistically like Smith did.

To me it’s like the difference between Buddy Rich, probably the most technically talented drummer ever, and Gene Krupa.

I know, right? The Doors are the same way, with Manzarek & Kreiger fighting with Densmore.

For a while, that was the same thing with Vanilla Fudge. They settled it with lawsuits, then eventually played together again before Tim’s death.

Yes, I know, I just meant in the context of Journey, that’s how I best like him.

It’s like Paul McCartney “was” a great bassist with the Beatles. On his own, his bass playing doesn’t seem as inspired.

Their live album had more energy than any other live album ever.

My brother used to call them FAG Fagwagon.
Cracked me up every time.

McCartney played better when he ate acid instead of beans.

I'm sure you know that Mike McGear is Paul McCartney's younger brother.

So he took the money, I can respect that. Doesn’t mean I have an iota of respect for the band.

I find it humorous how people can listen to someone under a different name and react entirely differently

I saw a story a couple of years ago where Roger says his fans have been asking if he would reunite with Supertramp for 1 last tour, and he said “I always listen to my fans, so I contacted Rick to inquire about it, and he told me that he had no interest in doing it.”

Which makes me sad, as the solo videos with Roger prove he can still do it, and I would certainly have paid to see them.
