Commissioner of Baseball Robert D. Manfred, Jr. issued the following statement today regarding the 2021 All-Star Game:
"Over the last week, we have engaged in thoughtful conversations with Clubs, former and current players, the Players Association, and The Players Alliance, among others, to listen to their views. I have decided that the best way to demonstrate our values as a sport is by relocating this year’s All-Star Game and MLB Draft.
"Major League Baseball fundamentally supports voting rights for all Americans and opposes restrictions to the ballot box. In 2020, MLB became the first professional sports league to join the non-partisan Civic Alliance to help build a future in which everyone participates in shaping the United States. We proudly used our platform to encourage baseball fans and communities throughout our country to perform their civic duty and actively participate in the voting process. Fair access to voting continues to have our game’s unwavering support.
I think Portland was the runner-up when the Expos moved.
Why don’t you talk to Ben Watson or Herschel Walker to see what kind of program they have?
Chicago has two stadiums that they could use. No voter fraud there. </s>
Screw cheating rat Atlanta - the millstone around Georgia’s neck. Hope they go broke.
I’m just waiting with baited breathe to see where they’ll hold the allstar game now....so very very important to me....NOT!
Where does the University of Georgia stand on voter integrity? Does the University of Georgia teach Critical Race Theory in their humanities courses? Are conservative ideas given the same respect as liberal ideas from the professors during classroom discussion? The fact that there are some stand-up guys that played for their teams is irrelevant. I can find some stand-up guys that play for professional teams also. My complaint is with colleges and universities in general and the toxic ideas they’re espousing. They need to be defunded and watching their games on TV helps fund the institution.
Since MLB is against Voter ID, I’m assuming I’ll no longer have to show my ID when I pick up tickets at will-call? ‘Cause, after all, IDs are racist.
I did exactly that in an email to MLB a month or so ago in which I notified them that I would not be renewing my MLB.tv subscription and why.
Where’s it going ?
