For me, it used to be that the best Desktop you could get was to build one. You start by finding the MoBo with the best specs for the performance hardware (chip, ram, video, boards) you want to run, and remember not to skimp on the power supply and cooling.

We just bought a new desktop. That was my wife’s choice. I don’t use it much and don’t even know what kind it is.

IMHO HP’s are junk. In order to get a good pc you should build one. Go here...https://pcpartpicker.com/ and do a little research. Desktop pc’s are actually easy to assemble if you follow the instructions and there are many videos on building a pc on youtube.

I use to build my own PC, but then I discovered Customer Service sucked.

At least you aren’t waiting on hold to talk to someone with a thick south asian accent and an oddly anglo sounding first name.

I bought a ‘renewed’ Dell desktop 2 years ago for under $300, plenty of computer for me. I did replace the 22” monitor with a 31” HD monitor so I don’t need glasses to read the screen.

been building my own since 2000. I like the ASUS WS Z390 PRO MB w/LGA1151 support (9th gen Intel CPU). I use mostly Corsair case, memory and power supply.
I’m seeing that high end Nvidia graphics cards have doubled in cost over the last year, thanks to scalpers.

I have bought Dell refurbished laptops and desktops (from Dell) for the last 20 years and in all that time I've only had one problem.

HP, DELL and Apple are junk - everyone I work with who has one hates them after being talked into buying them; as one person said about HP -it stands for: High Priced, Hardly Practical. DELL customer support is a joke and Apple is just high priced - costs way more than they’re worth.

I plan on buying a ‘refurbished desktop’ from Goodwill. Very cheap. They have a computer rebuild store near me.
