All the media screaming about 'bizarre,' which they leveled at Gaetz, now leaves them with egg all over their faces.
Seems the media's rush to judgment on the matter of Rep. Matt Gaetz, a popular conservative Florida Republican, who was smeared in the New York Times as someone in a relationship with a 17-year-old girl, might just leave them with egg all over their faces.
Again.
There's no doubt about it, the press came down hard on Gaetz, whose defense of himself on the Tucker Carlson show, following the Times hit piece, included describing an extortion plot, was broadly ridiculed as "improbable," "QAnon" and "bizarre," "bizarre," and "bizarre." Even some on the right called it "bizarre."
Sure, if he's making it up. Turns out he wasn't.

Remember what Uncle Joe said about there might not be a Republican party in 2024. As he once said he wants a surge at the Border upon his election. As he once said the Dems have the most extensive election fraud all set and ready.
As Obama said how the ideal situation would be to have a puppet in the White House with his own exalted self pulling the strings.

I think they miss a lot on their analysis, since we are likely getting a glimpse into ways that controlled pols are put in office on both sides of the aisle and then privately threatened and blackmailed.
Gaetz always creeped me out as some sort of callow narcissist, but the extortion threats and promises from an attorney who had been a US attorney who says his “partner” can make an impending indictment disappear and can arrange a full pardon IMO shows how the carrot is dangled after the stick has been soundly applied.
Sounds like Don Gaetz was smart enough to get his lawyer involved from the beginning and his lawyer was smart enough to get written confirmation from the FBI what was happening. Without that they were going to take Matt down. When the FBI’s little scheme started to unravel they dropped a dime to the NYT to save their buddy.
Another Russia scam and a bunch of FReepers are willing to be suckered in.
It will be impossible to regain his reputation after this.
If it is what Gaetz says it is, those responsible should be roundly punished for destroying Gaetz’s life.
Their extortion racket, to me, is a far more interesting topic.

What’s the difference with the FBI and the mafia? The mafia is in it for money and privately funded. The FBI is in it for power, and is funded thru taxpayer dollars. The FBI is evil. Pure evil. Pure corruption.

I hope to hell they gave the FBI a copy of the recording and locked away the original so the FBI doesn’t “accidentally” lose it.

After years of witch hunts from the left, all of a sudden I’m supposed to believe this attack on a conservative is legit. Right.
1. The mafia only wants 10%.
2. If you pay protection to the mafia, you actually get protected.
3. There’s much less paperwork dealing with the mafia.
4. The mafia doesn’t spend 12 years teaching children that the actions it takes are ethical.

Joel Greenberg, Matt Gaetz visited closed Seminole tax office together on weekend, source says
"The person said the footage showed Greenberg and Gaetz walking into the Tax Collector’s Lake Mary office on Primera Drive. Greenberg was seen going through baskets where driver’s licenses, turned in by residents for disposal, were stored and later went into a back room, the person said.
An indictment states that Greenberg used his access as an elected official to look up information about a girl between the ages of 14 and 17 in a state database, in order “to produce a false identification document and to facilitate his efforts to engage in commercial sex acts.”
Federal prosecutors have said that customers visiting tax collector branches that issued driver’s licenses and Florida ID cards would sometimes surrender their old IDs to Greenberg’s staff to be destroyed. But Greenberg, prosecutors allege, “used his access to the Seminole County Tax Collector’s Office to take surrendered driver licenses before they were shredded.”
He then “used the surrendered driver licenses that he had taken to cause fake driver licenses to be produced that had his photograph but the personal information of the victims whose driver licenses he had taken.”
Authorities have said Greenberg had several stolen IDs in his work vehicle the day he was first arrested, on charges that he’d stalked a political rival, as well as a pair of fakes in his wallet and materials for making more in his office.
I suspect that what she does all day - dream up scandalous stories, plant the seeds with the complicit media, then sit back and cackle as everyone on both sides runs with it. I’d bet the farm she fabricated Russia, Russia, Russia.

How did the FBI tapes get leaked to the New York Times. Spoiled an easy shot.
Gaetz's problems aren't a fabrication of the 'Deep State', Liz Cheney, GOPe or a biased 'propaganda sheet.'
Gaetz needed to exercise more discretion with respect to the people who chose to spend his time with. As they say, lay down with dogs, wake-up with flees. The most charitable thing that can be said about Joel Greenburg is that he's a dog.
There's a reason that in the week since this story first broke, no one in the Trump family has tweeted a single line of support about Gaetz. Not one line. I can't say that I remember any of the Trump confidents - like Jason Miller and Jenna Ellis - voicing any direct support for Gaetz. Don't you find that curious?
