To understand 2021, watch a KGB defector’s mid-1980s interview
American Thinker ^ | 2 Apr, 2021 | Andrea Widburg

On Thursday, Dan Bongino urged his audience to watch or just listen to a video of Yuri Bezmenov, a KGB defector to Canada, who came to love America and tried to warn Americans about the KGB’s plans. Listen to him is eerie because he spelled out in detail exactly what the Soviet Union was doing – it wasn’t planning to take America done through the military.

SNIP

An organized thinker, Bezmenov stated the core principles of his talk in the opening minute of the video:

But in reality, the main emphasis of the KGB is not in the area of intelligence at all. According to my opinion and the opinion of many defectors of my caliber, only about fifteen percent of time, money and manpower is spent on espionage as such. The other eighty-five percent is a slow process which we call either ideological subversion or active measures, or psychological warfare. What it basically means is, to change the perception of reality, of every American, to such an extent that despite an abundance of information no one is able to come to sensible conclusions in the interest of defending themselves, their family, their community and their country.

It’s a great brainwashing process which goes very slow and is divided into four basic stages. The first one being demoralization. It takes from fifteen to twenty years to demoralize a nation. Why that many years? Because this is the minimum number of years required to educate on generation of students in the country of your enemy, exposed to the ideology of the enemy. In other words, Marxism, Leninism ideology is being pumped into the soft heads of at least three generations of American students, without being challenged or contra-balanced by the basic values of Americanism, American patriotism.

This has been very apparent to anyone who has been paying attention.

Also read book: The New KGB

McCarthy was right. The subversion of the entertainment industry happened first, followed closely by the education sector.

Yes. McCarthy was right. McCarthy was an American hero, and it is a shame he is vilified rather than venerated.

Best book on the subject: “Blacklisted By History” by M. Stanton Evans.

I am reading a book now on the Venona Project called “Venona Secrets”.

I have long thought Sen. McCarthy was getting information from a source with access to Venona.

The "seeds" planted in America by the communists/Soviets decades ago have yielded a bountiful harvest.

Ironically, the Soviet Union died before it could enjoy the fruits of its labor, but nevertheless, their plan worked. What they set in motion has resulted in America being overtaken by a new home-grown generation of communists.

Very aggravating that in conservative media they are quick to trash McCarthy too.

That is frustrating to see. For me, realizing that not only was McCarthy NOT anything like teachers, books, and news have treated him, but there was nothing “baseless” about his charges, and “Red Scare” was something we damn well should have been concerned about...well, that was a watershed moment for me.

I had been indoctrinated growing up by teachers, books and news, to the point I remember thinking he was a very bad man. Of course he was. “Everyone”, people I trusted said it, his name was a pejorative.

When I found out why McCarthy was hated so much, it was a shock to realize how easy it was to get people to go along with politically orchestrated character assassinations.

Not necessarily. Putin IS the Soviet Union. He is a communist with an image team and a makeover. Putin and Xi will enjoy the fruits of Soviet labor, as Putin recreates the USSR and they both spread worldwide Communism.

“When I found out why McCarthy was hated so much, it was a shock to realize how easy it was to get people to go along with politically orchestrated character assassinations.”

There are two words (sadly) which may help clear away some of the confusion.

Ryan and Boehner

Here’s a link to Useless Dissident who has the entire interview in text with images in three parts.

There are many other interviews with Soviet era operatives on the site:

(Part 1 of 3, aka Tomas David Schuman, the G. Edward Griffin interview, better produced than the link American Thinker provides)

At a scholarly and conservative brown bag working group the consensus was reached that McCarthy had the right message, but McCarthy was the wrong messenger. McCarthy’s alcoholism was exploited by the opposition.

Doesn’t matter what side the exploiters are working for, the practice seems common enough.

Basically saying both Putin and Xi understand what is going on in the US and the world, they both know (especially Putin) what to expect, and they are both poised to reap the fruits of what comes.

Putin was part of the KGB that dealt with these matters. Xi, being part of the higher ups of the Chinese Communist Party, would have been briefed during Deng Xioping’s reign about it.

All true. The old Soviet Union paved the way for the commies of 2021 to take down America.

And if it doesn’t work, on their end, they will initiate World War III. Had Biden not won I suspect it would have happened later this yer.

“Most of the people who (reeducated) in the sixties, drop outs or half-baked intellectuals are now occupying the positions of power in te Government, civil service, business, mass media, educational system. You are stuck with them. You cannot get rid of them.”

“They are contaminated, They are programmed to think and react to certain stimuli in a certain pattern. You cannot change their mind even if you expose them to authentic information, even if you prove that white is white and black is black you still cannot change the basic perception and illogical behavior. “

“In other words, these people, the process of demoralization is complete and irreversible. To get rid society of these people you need another twenty or fifteen years to educate a new generation of patriotically-minded and commonsense people who would be acting in favor and in the interests of the United States society.”

Not sure why the Russians would even want to incorporate the US into their Marxist family now. Seems with our multi racial, mixed demographic population, and all the problems arising from it, they’d pass.

They don’t have George Ferguson dramas in true Marxist regimes.

They must destroy the old system before they build the new system.

I’ve watched this video several times starting in 2020. What’s most interesting to me (especially after the imposition of Xiden and crew on America) is the notion that the useful idiots (I.e. most Rats) will be lined up and shot first. Because they are the least trustworthy to the real revolutionaries. We already see this with fascists like AOC who would gladly take out Joe Manchin if she thought she could get away with it.
