Joe Biden's COVID face mask trick play
American Thinker ^ | 2 Apr, 2021 | Ayad Rahim

It's coming at the end of April. Can you keep your eye on the ball?

The Democrats are running a trick play. On the face of it, the play looks like a Hail Mary, but the outcome of this trick play is already known.

To contrast themselves to the evil Donald Trump, who did everything wrong and caused half a million Americans to die, the Democrats must do the opposite. The most obvious "opposite" is the face mask. We're the good and caring people: we wear the masks — unlike those uncaring Trumpists, who don't.

So when Joe Biden was "campaigning" for the presidency, he said he would issue a hundred-day national mandate to wear a face mask. When he took office, he did just that.

What happens after 100 days?

Voilà: the problem is solved. The new administration and the Democrats will take credit for ending the "pandemic"; people can get back to normal life (well, maybe a new normal); everybody will be happy; and Joe Biden can take a victory lap around the world.

But if Joe Biden is such a miracle-worker, why couldn't he have declared an end to the "pandemic" soon after he took office?

Because when you run a trick play, you don't want to make it too obvious; you don't want the audience to know you've run a trick play. And if they don't know you've run a trick play, then you can use it again. But, like the hidden-ball trick in baseball and the flea-flicker in football, you can run this play only once in a blue moon — long after the opposition has forgotten about it.

I have seen a person fishing in a boat on a large, unoccupied lake and wearing a mask. I can tell he REALLY cares.

People around here...wear a mask while walking their dogs...wear a mask while jogging...with no one within a half a mile....

Ignorance

When I leave a store, I immediately pull down my mask and breathe the fresh air on my way to the car. I've also been parking my car farther away from the entrance.

No kidding? Afraid to pass the CCP virus to the fish, how thoughtful. That’s one of the best examples of mask stupidity that I have read or seen to date. Though close behind is just seeing a picture of Buyden or the Camel with a mask - they look very stupid too.

Absolutely no reason for Biden to wear a mask.

Absolutely no reason for him to carry a bag and umbrella while ascending steps on AF1.....and not using the rail. Is he nuts?? I'm 77...railings are my friend.

Same here. When I am out in the countryside on the bike, I have come across a few bikers riding with masks as well. I saw a bicycle rider in town not only with a bike helmet on, but a mask and a face shield.

I see this all the time. I simply cannot understand the psychology of why people do this. To me it is just baffling. I am to the point where I may go up to these people and ask them why.

Just the other day I passed a guy near a neighborhood park, his dog was doing his business. Not another soul in sight and he is wearing mask.

I can’t breathe in those things. Does this make people feel virtuous? Are they honestly fearful?

Any who wish to mask up are welcome to. It will surely protect you from those who choose not to mask up.

My body, my choice. Pound sand, Biden.

Yes, they feel virtuous, and yes, they are fearful.

They are fearful first, because they do not understand ANYTHING about viruses, so they believe that masks save themselves from harm.

Secondly, they feel virtuous, because they care sooooo much about everybody. Why wouldn’t you want to help keep others safe?

I can say this because I have several people in my life wearing masks in situations where it’s not necessary in the slightest way, and this is how they act.

I here in the San Francisco peninsula, I see this all the time. It’s been this way for thirteen months now. Solo walkers, bike riders, car drivers (windows rolled up) all wearing masks. Why? What’s the point? Do they really think the atmosphere is full of poisonous COVID gas all around them and one whiff will kill them?

What cracks me up is the fully masked will grab a seat at an outdoor dining table close to other diners and people walking by on the adjacent sidewalk and drop the mask.

The other thing that cracks me up is people dropping the mask to cover their chin and sitting on a bench sipping coffee with friends wearing their chin-masks.

Maybe silliest is all is the scared nuts without masks putting the crook of their elbows over the mouth and nose as I walk by them.

The fear is astonishing.

Sniffer got shots early. Wearing a mask after getting shots, says, that shots don’t work.

I predict that the Dems will try to keep this going until next Spring, then declare victory then. It will give them a “victory” going into next year’s midterms.

They will call for closings during the fall and early winter due to new variants. There will also be another mass vaccination campaign this fall (boosters and seasonal flu).

I have welcomed being able to wear a mask. Ever since I had a deviated septum corrected around 30 years ago, odors have been around five times stronger than before. On top of that, the pollen, dust and mold spores are much more toxic to my respiratory system. I always wore a mask of some sort when doing yard work, but wasn’t able to wear one when I was teaching high school. I compensated by having a desk fan pointed AWAY from me, blowing the cigarette smells and cheap cologne away from my nose. I do want to see an end to the expectation that one must wear a mask, but I am hoping the option to wear one in public will stay in place.

#2 I wonder if he puts a mask on the fish after he catches them?
