Apple to use 85 Tesla 'Megapack' batteries in California energy project
AppleInsider ^ | April Fool's Day 2021 (this is not an AFJ) | Senior Editor Mikey Campbell

Announced today, Apple's program is designed to store some 240 megawatt-hours of energy — enough to power more than 7,000 homes for a day — at the company's 130-megawatt California Flats solar farm. The project is being hailed by the tech giant as one of the largest battery projects in the country.

According to documents filed with the Monterey County Board of Supervisors in 2020, and unearthed by The Verge, Apple plans to use 85 Tesla lithium-ion Megapacks as part of the initiative. Some of the energy stored in the batteries will reportedly be used to power Apple Park in Cupertino.

Oh yeah and China will be happy to use coal-based energy to manufacture bitcoins since they make 80% of them using their many coal fired plants

I love how “engineers” (PR Firms for solar and wind welfare recipients) are allowed to use maximum values for their calculations. If I did that in my consulting tasks people would die and I wouldn’t even be able to get a job at the John Kerry Memorial Solar Panel Factory.

Nearly 40 million people in California.
Their battery pack only good for 7,000 homes and I bet not if you power the a/c or heater.

I set the time index to 3:24, goes to the leaked email. I've suffered through this awful narration and the Apple-Tesla thing is discussed above.

Basically, Tesla is now or is going to be working out the assembly line for the Cybertruck and its battery packs in the Fremont plant, so that when as the Austin plant is completed, ramping production will be a smoother process.

About halfway through the video, US deliveries are estimated. Around the 8 minute mark, EU/UK deliveries are discussed.

Tesla’s sales in China and the economic recovery there (and probably some other factors) led to Tesla’s raising the price of its Shanghai-manufactured Model Y’s.

(Tesla’s actual numbers will likely be released around April 27)

This guy's face is hilarious to watch. Unlike a lot of YouTubers, he covers a lot of ground in his very organized presentation. Time index to the snip about the possible Model 2 factory starting to go up. The Shanghai plant went from a glimmer in the eye to shooting out cars in about a year.

It is mind boggling to think the USA, swimming in natural resources, human capital and infrastructure ( run down as it is ) has been reduced to an import/agrian/info/service based economy.

I will never get it.

It has to do with where the growth markets are — that would be where the un- and under-developed populations are. Steel made in the US can’t be sold to countries which would have to barter their entire annual sweat production to get some steel, because that’s all they have.

China is headed into a sharp decline in population by 2040, when they get to that lovely topheavy demographic, but the eventual rise of the Chinese economy was foreseen at least as long ago as WWII, it was noted by US General Joseph Stilwell (bio by Barbara Tuchman).

Meanwhile, the US will have to, and will, change what it does and how it does it. The Demagogic Party, its violent stooges, and some parasitic criminal growth (like Soros) is the main impediment to that change.

Here’s a copy (looks like more than one) of the Tuchman book, she was the first researcher allowed full access to his letters and diaries, and is a great read.

Here’s a photo of Vinegar Joe with the Kai-Sheks, looks like he’s shared a joke with them, perhaps in Chinese, he spoke it perfectly. He referred to FDR as “Rubberlegs” (in private of course) and Chiang Kaishek as “Peanut” (again, in private).

Elon Musk has revived the idea of building a 1950s-style diner at a Tesla Inc (NASDAQ: TSLA) Supercharger station in Santa Monica, California. What Happened: The Tesla CEO said Santa Monica will soon have a "major new Supercharger station" with a retro diner and movies... Musk also thanked the city of Santa Monica, possibly hinting that local officials are moving toward approving the plan. Musk mentioned the idea in 2018, Elektrek reported, quoting Musk as then saying he planned to open an “old-school drive-in, roller skates & rock restaurant at one of the new Tesla Supercharger locations in Los Angeles.” Though it wasn't clear how serious the plan was, the company did apply for building permits in Santa Monica, Elektrek said, adding the project has run into approval problems with the local government.
